Fic idea: Alternate universe

I'm probably going to write this myself when I finish my current story, but I like the idea so much that I want to see what other people might do with it.

Here's the idea: You start out in a world that's pretty much as things are, aka if we're talking about Colin, Ryan, Greg, Wayne or Chip, they're married, most likely with children, living in all these different states and cities, etc. Somehow someone gets transported to an alternate universe where they're in a relationship with another one of the guys and has been for years and is openly gay and the whole world knows about the relationship... Whoever was transported was replaced by their counterpart. Throughout the course of the story you'd switch back and forth between the two universes and the two guys that were already a couple would end up swaying the other two to start something.

Before I go any further, some of you may be thinking that this sounds familiar. That would be because I got the idea while reading Crossing the Line by Thesseli. I'm not trying to copy her idea. Her story was a crossover and the two couples involved were not the same. But you should read it. It's fun. ^_^

Anyway, so random stuff about the idea: I'm not specifying a couple because that'd be silly. ^_^ The people who've switched can either attempt to hide the fact that they're not in Kansas anymore or could just let their partner know everything -- whatever you think is more fun. I really don't want to put any limitations on the idea because I'd rather see where people take it. So yeah. That's it. ^_^

This gets you up through H in alphabetical order of fic titles. I'm trying to space them out a bit in how I send them, because I know I read them all at once and now I'm left wishing there were still new fics. But alas, I've read nearly every single WL fic out there - or at least all the COL/Ry ones - and now theres no more new ones. But I know how happy I was when I found these, so I hope you enjoy them, and when you finish them let me know and I'll send more. :D

Thank you. ^_^ I'm reading Abandon now. I found it and Vita on the ML. Adult Contemporary I've read before (back when I was doing the whole reading through old posts thing, but 8,000 was a bit much for me to look through ^_^). I LOVE that story. Bridge I may or may not have read. I'll figure it out soon enough.

I'm writing a multichapter story now that's not Col/Ry (which shocked the Hell out of me ^_^) but has them in it. I'll start posting it as soon as I work up the will to do some typing.

And yeah, it is great to have something new to read. ^_^ Thank you again.

You're quite welcome! I can't wait to read your story! Who is in it, if it's not Col/Ry, just out of curiosity?

There's actually quite a bit of Col/Ry in it (I can't help myself ^_^;;) even though they're not the main pairing. The main pairing is Chip/Drew. I can't remember what exactly made me think this was a good idea, just that it was some two second thing on some episode of Whose Line that I've been desperately trying to re-find ever since.

That's the thing -- I can't remember. I know I have it on one of my tapes, but for the life of me I can't remember Drew and Chip ever interacting. It's such a weird pairing, but I think it's going well. I just wish I could remember what my inspiration was. ^_^
