You remember Secret Santa...
The excitement...
The Angst...
So now...
Prepare...
for the
"SECRET VALENTINE CHALLENGE!!!!"
What will you get out of this? A personalized fic, written for you by that very secret special someone, delivered into your inbox on Valentine's day. A deadline and inspiration for your own writing, and the fact that you are going to make someone very very happy.
So why wait? SIGN UP BEFORE THE 25TH!
The people who entered the Secret Santa challenge still remember the drill, but I'd love to see some new writers too!
Here's how it goes:
1. Fill out this form below.
2. DON'T post it here. Send it to me at strawberry_white@hotmail.com, before the 25th. Oh, and don't forget to mention who you are ;)
3. I'll reply and tell you I got it.
4. On the 26th, you will receive your assignment. You will know for who you will be writing.
5. Reply and say you got it.
6. Send your fic, to me, BY THE 12TH OF FEBRUARY. American time ;)
7. I send the fics out on the 14th. You will get one in your mailbox, without knowing who wrote it for you (hence the secret part). Much happiness will ensue.
8. A couple days after the 14th, you are free to post your fics and tell your Secret Valentine it was you.
Now, THE FORM
YOUR REQUEST:
Describe what you like to receive:
Examples: Ryan/Colin romance, Anything with Greg, Something about Helping Hands, Something angsty,...
Squicks (What you definitely don’t want to see):
Examples: Anything with Drew, cross-overs, BSDM,...
YOUR GIFT:
Describe what you are willing to do: (remember, the more general you are in this area, the easier it is for me to match you up)
Examples: Only Chip/Brad, Anything except Wayne/Drew,...
(feel free to mention your specialty or favourite topic/pairing, but I can’t guarantee a perfect match)
Squicks(What you definitely don’t want to write):
Examples: Threesomes, Some partner cheating on the other,...
WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? DO IT!!!!! *laugh*
And, because I don't have to heart to make another post for just this, some random facts about the long-ago Secret Santa challenge:
-Ten people signed up. (Which is like, half of the fandom :)
-The most popular squicks were threesomes, BSDM, and Drew.
-One person mentioned under squicks something along the lines of: “No Colin and Ryan. Oh, for the love of God, NO Colin and Ryan!”. Which made me laugh. :)
-Eight people out of ten requested a Colin/Ryan.
-Three people said they would only write friendship or low-rating fics, but no one requested one.
-And finally, we are such a nice fandom. I had a chat with someone who did Secret Santa for another fandom, and she mentioned getting awful e-mails from people disagreeing with their assignments, and being generally rude. All e-mails I got were in the line of “Oh that’s great, thank you.” *grin*
So make me all happy again and sign up!
