Title: Too Much Information
Pairing: Ryan/Colin
Rating: Probably PG-13
Summary: Ryan tends to share a little too much when he gets drunk.
Notes: This is my Valentine story for Amara (
broadway_bound3). It was my first time writing a Ryan/Colin story, so please forgive me if this totally sucks. Other than that, please enjoy!
After what seemed like a particularly long taping of “Whose Line”, the guys needed a way to relax and what better way than heading off to a local bar. They needed a place to unwind and beer seemed like the perfect solution.
The bar they picked was a regular spot they all frequented. They knew the bartender pretty well and it wasn’t likely anyone would recognize them in the dim lighting. Plus, having a corner table away from the main bar helped.
Once they were seated and drinks had been passed around, the usual conversations and chatter started, mostly about the upcoming “Drew Live” episode and then about the Improv All-Stars.
After a while though, when they had more alcohol in their bodies, conversation got a little less intelligent.
"How do you feel about sex toys?"
Ryan choked on his mouthful of beer he had been trying to swallow, resulting in Colin pounding on his back to help him breathe again.
"Greg! Give some warning next time before jumping into your next sex education lesson," Wayne said, smacking his arm.
Brad smirked at Wayne, "What sex ed. class were you in? I don't think they taught about sex toys when I went through it. I think I might have actually paid attention if that was part of the class."
“I got an A in that class,” Wayne countered, sticking his tongue out.
“Very mature. I passed too, but I was saying it would have been more interesting if they would have included sex toys,” Brad said slowly, as if talking to a small child.
Wayne frowned, “You’re mean.”
“He’s always mean,” Greg added, grinning at Brad.
"Evil. Pure evil," Ryan muttered, glaring across the table at Greg after he had finally gotten his breath back.
"Whose bright idea was it to come out to the bar tonight after the show?" Drew asked.
"That would be Greg, as usual. Only he could handle getting drunk every night and then have to worry about doing the show with a hangover the next day," Colin said, sighing softly.
"It's called practice. It's not my fault you can't hold your liquor to save your life," Greg teased.
Unfortunately for all of them, they could hold their liquor pretty well. They had been there for only two hours and Wayne was already pretty drunk, Colin had sworn off beer for the rest of the night, and Ryan had finally stopped after he was halfway drunk.
“…and remember? She had lots of animals in her video. Like…zebras or something?” Brad asked after a particularly long monologue.
“It was Madonna or Cher or someone like that,” Drew said.
“No, it was Janet Jackson. C’mon, people, learn your black history,” Wayne said, faking exasperation.
"My head hurts after that whole discussion. I think I need some coffee," Ryan said softly, leaning his forehead against the table.
"Good luck getting some here," Brad commented, shifting slightly and trying not to bother Wayne, who was leaning against him heavily.
"You can go home and sleep it off," Colin said, rubbing his shoulders.
"Let him go home with you, Colin. He's in no condition to drive himself home," Drew said.
"I already planned on that," Colin replied.
Brad sighed, staring at his beer bottle, "If we keep doing this, I'm never going to meet a girl. All of our love lives will suffer."
"Mine's fine. I've been sleeping with Colin for five years," Ryan said suddenly.
Colin groaned next to him, "Yeah, he's definitely had too much to drink."
"Is that true? Why didn't you ever tell us?" Greg asked.
Colin shrugged, "I guess we're not ones to kiss and tell. I mean, maybe we should have told you guys, but I think one's personal life should stay personal."
Wayne, who suddenly looked very much awake, looked over at the pair sitting across from him, “You two have been…wow. I guess I have always thought you two were together, but I didn’t think it was true.”
“The story of our lives,” Ryan added, nodding thoughtfully.
“The things that come up around here. We wouldn’t find out anything if it wasn’t for Ryan being drunk. I guess we have to resort to getting Ryan drunk so he’ll confess,” Brad teased.
“I’m sorry we didn’t tell you, but I guess it never came up. When we’re filming, it never comes up. We didn’t want to mix our work and personal life,” Colin said, looking over to see Ryan nodding. Actually, he wasn’t sure if Ryan had ever stopped nodding.
"Then I guess we're glad Ryan decided to get drunk," Drew said, grinning at the obviously intoxicated man.
"I'm not drunk. I feel perfectly fine," Ryan slurred.
"And that would be our cue to leave. Believe me, I'm going to need all the coffee and aspirin I can get my hands on for him tomorrow morning," Colin said, standing up. He helped Ryan onto his feet and wrapped an arm around his waist when the younger man swayed slightly.
"Have fun and don't take advantage of him in his vulnerable state," Greg called.
Colin merely glanced back at him, his eyes narrowed, but laughed when Ryan flipped Greg off. Apparently his middle finger was the only thing still receiving signals from his brain, Colin thought.
He managed to get Ryan home in one piece, even though he was sure he was never letting Ryan drink in a bar again. He was getting too old to worry about dragging a very drunk someone home safely. Usually, he wouldn't mind, but this time Ryan had gotten so drunk he had developed a serious case of the giggles, and he found Colin especially funny.
"Never again, Ry," he muttered, firmly pushing Ryan onto their bed after undressing him.
Ryan started laughing again as he laid back and looked up at Colin looming above him, "Never again what?"
Colin smiled softly and sighed, leaning down to kiss him, "Nothing, Ry. Just go to sleep."
He had barely gotten his pants off when he heard Ryan's deep breathing. He slipped into the bed and wrapped an arm around the younger man.
He hadn't really planned Ryan bringing up their relationship and he knew Ryan hadn't planned it either, but he was glad in a way. His closest friends finally knew about them and he could finally kiss Ryan backstage and not worry if Drew or Wayne or one of the others would walk in on them.
That was the one good thing about Ryan being drunk: he could out them to their friends and no one would make a big deal out of it. So much for the phrase "too much information".
