Title: Six Six Six
Author: Sun Green
Characters: Chip, Jeff, Greg, Wayne, and Brad in various combinations.
Rating: PG
Summary: A set of unrelated drabbles (the third and fourth would make no sense if they were) - not Halloween themed, but using Halloween words as prompts. Oddly enough the word count came to exactly 666 which was WAY too bizarre not to go with it - hence the title. My Trick or Treat fic for

Mask
Chip in front of the camera reminds Jeff of an overgrown puppy – playful and goofy, sometimes annoying. It’s the side of Chip that most people see all the time.
But Jeff also knows another side of him; a Chip who is serious, pensive. Sometimes he grows quiet, lost in thought for so long that Jeff thinks he’s forgotten that he’s there. Until Chip turns to him and asks a question that reveals what’s on his mind.
“You ever feel like everything you’ve accomplished has been a huge waste of time?”
Jeff wraps his arms around Chip, answering with his touch as well as with words.
“No.”
Witch
It’s cold outside the studio, but Chip lingers, watching the door. When the hinges creak, he turns away as though he wasn’t waiting for any particular reason – just getting some air. Greg is surprised to see him, but smiles pleasantly enough.
“Good work today.”
Chip bites back a ridiculously pleased grin. “Thanks.” Greg glances at his watch, then back at Chip as though wondering why he’s still there. Chip speaks up again, quickly. “Hey, would you want to -” He’s cut off by the sound of an impatient blast from a car horn, and follows Greg’s gaze to the red Mercedes that screeches up, one wheel jumping the curb. He doesn’t miss the very different smile that spreads across Greg’s face as Jen’s arm waves out the window.
“See you,” Greg tosses over his shoulder, Chip already forgotten.
Ghost
The chairs are coated in a thick layer of dust, obscuring the color of the cushions – which has probably faded beyond recognition anyway. From the looks of it, they haven’t left the studio storage bin since the day the set was broken down for good.
There’s no way to tell them apart, so Greg simply picks one. For once not caring what the grime will do to his Armani suit, he sits. He imagines the smiling face; the infectious laughter and playful energy. He tries to feel him.
He doesn’t, quite. This isn’t some tearjerker movie. Still, Greg gives the armrests a gentle squeeze and speaks softly, barely moving his lips.
“I miss you, Wayne.”
Trick
“You gonna tell me what this is about?” Wayne eyes the coiled rope with interest. Chip only smiles enigmatically. Wayne gives his leather clad form an appreciative once over as he obediently follows along.
Behind a run down building, Chip raps on the door. Wayne is startled when it opens to reveal Jeff and Brad. He smirks. “Well! Isn’t this -”
“No time!” Brad interrupts, grabbing the rope from Chip. He gives it a few experimental twirls as Jeff, in a sailor suit, plops a cowboy hat on his head. Chip picks up an elaborate Indian headdress and thrusts it at Wayne.
“What the -”
“Come on!” Chip seizes his arm and pulls him along. Wayne is startled to find himself facing a heavy red curtain as a disembodied voice fills the small space.
“Ladies and gentlemen, will you welcome to Karaoke Night – THE VILLAGE PEOPLE!”
Treat
Even in the middle of winter, Jeff stops almost daily at his favorite ice cream shop near the studio. By the time he reaches his dressing room the vanilla is beginning to ooze down the sides of the cone. In his opinion this only makes it better. Awkwardly lugging his jacket, a stack of library books and the giant stuffed penguin that Ryan thrust at him on his way in (he has no idea why), he shifts the cone to his left hand and fumbles with the key.
“Boo!”
Brad achieves his intended effect, cracking up as Jeff drops his entire load with a yelp of terror. He doesn’t notice the vanilla ice cream dripping down his shirt front until he sees Jeff staring at it in dismay.
“That was my lunch,” Jeff says plaintively.
Brad looks at his sticky clothing and back at Jeff with a wicked grin. “You hungry? Well, come and get it…”
