(Thanks Clay for the name tag!)

Slowly getting back into writing WL fics (the muse is generally uncooperative).  Here's a little ficlet for now. Hope you like it.

Title: Conflicting emotions
Author: Odo (a.k.a. Crazyodo)
Pairing: Could be read as unrequited C/R or even plain C/R. You decide.
Rating: PG, I think.
Archive: Ask me first. Chances are I'll say yes.
Category/Warning: RPS, m/m. Angsty. Colin-centric, I suppose.
Disclaimer: The characters are based on ABC's improv show Whose Line Is It Anyway? and do not belong to me. I own nothing expect the plot and my twisted brain. The story is intended for entertainment purposes  and no disrespect is meant towards the people mentioned in it.
Author's Note: Thanks a lot to my lovely beta [profile] colmochrie. Thank you so much, dear! All remaining errors are solely mine. Any feedback is loved. Concrit even more so.

Conflicting emotions

Colin doesn't like Ryan. Not anymore. He's finally come to terms with that terrible realization and thinks it might be the single most painful feeling he's ever experienced.

He turns away - at times like these, it's all he can do not to leave - and focuses on the others. Greg and Wayne are mocking Drew's inability to read his cards. The audience has joined in, and Colin pastes the appropriate smile on his face. When you're so used to pretending, it almost looks natural. He worries that no one can tell the difference. He worries that Ryan can't tell the difference. He worries that it's becoming too easy to pretend when he's off stage as well.

A table is brought in as Drew announces the next game. Colin's smile becomes a bit more genuine. That's the one game he still likes - the one that has him jumping out of his chair in a hurry to get started. The opportunity to be in close proximity with Ryan without having to face him. Colin tries not to think of how cowardly he's become. Instead, he wraps his arms around the lanky body and takes advantage of his permission to touch. Hips, belly, chest, face. Lips. Tongue. Colin takes everything of Ryan he can get.

But time is growing short, and in the back of his mind lurks the knowledge that soon Drew will call an end to the game, shattering Colin's illusions. And they'll walk back to their seats and Colin will make sure not to meet Ryan's eyes. He hates that when he does, he can't see the man he fell in love with, the one who became his best friend. People change and grow apart, and Colin hates himself for resenting Ryan for it.

For now, however, there's a musky scent filling his lungs. Ryan's arms are holding him close, and it's almost enough to make Colin happy. Because it's true that Colin doesn't like Ryan. Not anymore. But he can't help being utterly in love with him.
