[mod post]

We have a bunch of new people, and first of all, hi. ^_^ Happy to have you all. However, as a mod, I feel the need to run through the rules just so we're all on the same page.
I've never been particularly strict about keeping to this format because we're all here to have fun, and I don't like to rain on anyone's parade, but a little organization makes all our lives a little easier (especially when end of year awards come around—because yes, we are doing those again) and a nice, clean header attracts readers to your story, so it benefits everyone. Readers are going to want to know what they're getting into at a glance. We're all busy people, and we need to know if something is worth our time before investing ourselves. Also, when someone's looking back through the archive, and they're seeing random phrases as opposed to fic titles in the subject lines, they're not going to be sure if what lies behind that link is even a story. Following the form helps me out and helps you out; I just wanted to make sure we've all seen it. So here are the standards that are listed in the community profile:
When Posting A Fic
-Post behind an LJ Cut
-Feel free to post the whole fic all at once OR in chaptered segments. Just be sure to lable each chapter as to which chapter it is out of how many total chapters.
-Identify your fic in the subject line by title and whether it's a story, drabble, series, challenge, etc.
-Tag the entry with pairing, rating, author, etc. If a tag for one of these is not available, the mod will create one for you.
-Above the LJ Cut identify your fic by
Title
Author
Rating (G-NC17)
Main Character(s) and/or pairings
Summary
And while I'm here, if anyone would like a tag, just give me a shout out. ^_^
Thank you for reading,
Clay
