Title: Screams in Silence
Summary: Ryan watches as Greg has yet another dream, contemplating Greg. Fluffy, sorta.
Pairing: Greg/Ryan

Ryan sighed softly, squinting as his eyes caught the thin sliver of pale moonlight cutting through the crack in the curtains. It was nearly three o'clock, and (once again) he found himself unable to sleep. As he shifted so that he wasn't being blinded any longer, Ryan caught a movement in the corner of his eye.

To his left, Greg flipped over for the fifth time in the past half hour. The sheets were tangled around his legs and his pyjama pants were twisted odd ways as well. Greg had always been a bit of a restless sleeper- in fact, most nights he talked (if the random syllables he strung together could be considered talking) in his sleep. There had been one night, a few months ago, that he had screamed and woke himself up.

Greg never talked about it, and Ryan never asked. He knew that Greg had his demons- he knew that talking about them made the dreams worse. The only time Ryan had asked, Greg told a little. That was the night he woke up screaming.

This was different, though. Greg was curled up against his pillow, smiling just slightly enough to be seen. He wriggled around again- he wasn't tossing around as Ryan thought, but wriggling in a strangely familiar way.
Ryan resisted the urge to loop an arm around Greg's slender hips and pull him close. There was something about Greg- he always looked adorable when he was asleep- that made Ryan want to cuddle with him (he would admit this despite the fear of sounding overly girly). Doing so would wake Greg for just an instant, then the dream would be lost. He was interested in seeing this dream's progression, since it seemed to be a good one. Greg's smile got a little more pronounced as he mumbled again, shifting so he was closer to Ryan.

"Mmm... nice." This was the first bit of coherent sleep-talking he had ever heard from Greg, and needless to say he was a bit surprised. Ryan couldn't stop himself from ghosting his lips across Greg's temple, and the younger man pulled closer still until his back was practically against Ryan's chest. His next syllable was more of a soft, satisfied sigh. "Ry..." Ryan let his fingers trail gently along Greg's tummy, coaxing a quiet moan from him. Even in his sleep, Greg was sensitive on his stomach.

In the beginning, Greg had totally surprised him. Ryan had expected him to be rough and dominant and needing to be in control, but he was way, way off. The first kiss they had shared was gentle and easygoing, with neither of them guiding one way or the other but rather letting things progress naturally. Ryan found that Greg preferred to be controlled rather than be the controller, though more often than not they just rolled with the tide and did whatever felt right. Greg was vocal, but the syllables he used rarely formed words (the same way he talked in his sleep), letting his body speak for him. Greg was excellent at communicating in silence. They knew eachother well enough that they don't need any words. They knew what to do.

Greg murmured Ryan's name again, leaning back enough that he and Ryan were touching more than just the slow little patterns Ryan was drawing across Greg's stomach.

"Ryan..." The corner of Greg's mouth twitched upwards. "Love you." Ryan held Greg tight, letting his lips press lightly on Greg's temple again as he repeated the sentiment. He sighed in contentment as Ryan continued to trace a design across his skin, eyes suddenly fluttering open. "Tha's fuck'n bright. Turn i' off," he mumbled, burying his face in his pillow.

"That's the moon, Greg. You can't turn it off."

What truth there be in the innocence of sleep...

I like this one. You kept flipping back and forth between past and present tense, but I like it. You put a small world in a couple of paragraphs.

Oh, I really liked this. It's not overly fluffy, with the mentions of Greg waking up screaming. But it's totally languid and sweet and then the last line is just awesome, lol. Very nicely done!
