Title: Forgive or Forget

Summary: Colin comes home to find Ryan acting different...
A/N: This is/was for emi_rosa . Sorry to post it a little late, but I've been busy lately hence this might be the last post from me for a while.

 

One snow blowing winter morning Ryan wakes up with a slight chill, usually he never does so he could tell immediately that something was wrong. He looks up and around the room to see that his lover, Colin, is not in bed or in the room so he gets worried because when Colin wakes up he usually shakes Ryan’s shoulder gently to wake him up as well though he didn’t this time. So Ryan try to think of the reasons of why Colin didn’t wake him up but he couldn’t because of the chill so he decides to take a nice hot shower to warm himself up.

 The hot water runs like a waterfall against Ryan’s skin, smooth and very relaxing, in a way he forgets the chill but in another way he tries to forget of Colin not waking him up. Steam builds up and fills the bathroom making Ryan feel calm and relaxed; after a while he turns off the water and gets out of the shower then as he wraps the towel around his waist he heads into the bedroom towards his closet.

 “Hmm, what can I wear that will keep me warm?” Ryan said as he searched through his closet for some clothes

 Ryan tries to figure out to wear the long sleeve light blue shirt or the long sleeve orange shirt; he tries to make a decision but he can’t just then he starts to get a feeling that he’s being watched so he turns around, no one is there not even Colin. He grabs a random shirt and some jeans to put on then he goes out to search the hallway.

 “Col, are you here?” Ryan asks curiously while walking the hallway slowly

 He doesn’t get a reply, so starting to wonder what’s going on here, he wanders through the house searching for Colin. In each room on the top floor he doesn’t find him, though as he goes down the stairs he starts to hear something; wind chimes blowing from outside, a floor board creaking from up the stairs. Slowly he turns around looks towards the livingroom to see if Colin or something was there, but there wasn’t.

 Not sure what’s going on here, Ryan starts to feel a slight chill and someone watching him again, so it’s definitely freaking him out now. The sound of the clock chiming, startles him to where he jerks his head to look around and breathes heavy.

 “Col, if your trying to scare me then it’s working... please come on out.” Ryan said nervously

 Again he didn’t get a reply from Colin, but he did get a sensation of someone breathing on his neck so he slowly turns around to see nothing there. Confused and starting to get frightened, Ryan leaves the livingroom and heads towards the kitchen to get a drink.

 As he goes to the coffee machine and turns it on, he gets a sudden chill down his spine from something lightly touching him. Too frightened to speak, Ryan slowly close his eyes and tries to keep focus on making himself a cup of coffee. Slowly taking breathes, his breathing becomes stable enough to keep his mind on the coffee and drink it.

 “Man, Ryan... just calm down, there’s nothing here to be scared of” he told himself calmly while drinking the cup of coffee

 After Ryan finished the cup of coffee, he goes to put on his socks and his white with black flame shoes then heads for the front door. Though as he reached the main door, the doorknob starts jiggling without Ryan’s hand on it in which startles him and makes him back up away from the door in fear. His back touches the wall and slides down to the ground as the door slowly opens, in fright Ryan holds his knees and tuck his head down into his legs.

 Colin walks in and gives a weird look at Ryan, “Ry, what are you doing?”

 Ryan didn’t know if he was hearing things or not, so he slowly looks up and sees Colin. Giving a sigh in relief and smiles for happiness to see Colin, Ryan stands up and calmly says “hey Col... it doesn’t matter now, I’m just glad to see you home now”

 “Now? Ry, did something happen while I went out to get the car from the shop?” Colin asks curiously

 Ryan gives a weird look at first then does a face palm as he remembers Colin telling him yesterday that the car will be fixed and ready to be picked up today, but he thought that Colin agreed to pick it up in the afternoon not in the morning. He wanted to tell him what happened but he didn’t want to worry Colin so calmly and trying to hide his fright tone he said, “Oh I took a shower and had some coffee, that’s it.”

 Colin raised his eyebrow at Ryan, like he knows that’s not entirely what happened when he was away so he glares at Ryan.

 Ryan can tell that Colin is trying to make him tell, but he doesn’t want to worry Colin so he keeps quiet.

 “Ry, tell me the truth.... what happened?” Colin asks with a stern look

 Ryan gulps and takes a breathe to find the words to say, but he couldn’t so he nervously says, “ I’m fine, really... I woke up with a slight chill so I took a nice hot shower then got dressed and got some coffee.”

 Colin looks convinced for a bit then walks away to give Ryan some space and heads to the kitchen for some coffee. Ryan sighs as he puts his head down and walks out the door to go for a walk around the blocks while Colin stayed inside the house to think. 

 “I know that Ry told me some of the truth, but not all of it... he has never hidden anything from me, so why is he doing it now. Did I do something wrong to make him hide what ever happened to him to lie to me?” Colin muttered to himself as he sits down in the chair at the table and slowly drink his coffee till the house phone rang

 the phone rang a couple times before Colin answered it, “hello”

 “Hey Col, it’s Brad... just wondering if you and Ry would like to watch the game with me and Jeff at my place in a hour.” he asks kindly

 “That sounds good, I’ll be there though I don’t know about Ry... but I will ask him when he gets home.” Colin said honestly

 “What do you mean Col? Is everything okay with you and Ry?” Brad asks concerned

 “Everything is fine with us, but something happened this morning when I went out to pick up the car though Ry wont tell me everything that happened so I’m getting worried about him.” Colin said quietly as he heard the door opened

 Ryan walks inside the house and heads to the livingroom, goes to the couch to sit down and takes off his shoes then puts his legs up on the couch.

 “Okay, forget about the game then because I won’t want Ry be upset while watching the gam.... don’t give up in him Col, please talk to him and find out what’s wrong.” Brad said honestly

 Colin smiles and calmly says, “That’s a good idea, thank you for understanding Brad. I’ll let you go now that way I can go talk with Ry.”

 “Your welcome, I’m here to help man. What kind of a friend would I be if I didn’t help out?” Brad said with a smile

 Colin giggles, “true, true... I’m glad you’re my friend... later man” and hangs up the phone then goes to the fridge, grabs a couple beers and takes them to the livingroom

 Colin raise his eyebrow to see Ryan asleep on the couch, knows it isn’t right to disturb Ryan when he’s taking a nap but he has to talk to Ryan so he gently shakes his shoulder. Ryan gives a little groan but doesn’t wake up as he turns to his side on the couch. Surely, Colin gets a idea and puts the bottle beer on Ryan’s neck; Ryan feels the chill and starts remembering earlier so he wakes up screaming and jump off the couch leaving Colin looking worried at him.

 “Col, I... I...” nervously Ryan stands in front of Colin looking scared

 “Ry, why did you scream?” Colin asks worriedly

 Ryan puts his head down as he sits down on the couch and sighs to try telling Colin calmly, “Col, you didn’t wake me up this morning like you always do... I was a bit upset to where I got a chill and I took a hot shower to warm up then when I went into the bedroom to get dressed I felt like something was watching me the entire time while I was getting dressed. I first thought that it was you trying to scare me so I went around the house to see where you were but I couldn’t find you and I just got scared everytime I got a chill on my neck and back.”

 Colin looks a bit down and sorry for Ryan; Ryan is his best friend and he cares about him a lot to where he’d do anything for him. Seeing Ryan scared and scream, Colin feels bad and not the time for beer so he goes to put the beer back in the fridge then heads back to sit down next to Ryan and softly rubs his back.

 “Ry, I’m so sorry about that... I thought that you would like to sleep in after last nights card drinking game, you deserve a good night sleep so that’s why I didn’t wake you up. Plus I thought I’d surprise you by getting the car myself this morning that way tonight I can treat you.” Colin said reassuring while softly rubbing Ryan’s back and holding him close

 Ryan smiles kindly at Colin and gives him a kiss on the cheek, calmly and honestly he says, “I understand now...” he softly rubs his finger along Colin’s chin as he continues softly “... and really, I can’t wait for that treat tonight.... I can also say that I have forgotten about this morning incident to where I’m just happy to have you with me.”

 Colin beams happily and gently kisses Ryan; Ryan smiles happily and holds Colin close as they share this wonderful moment.

Aw, this is a cute story! Those two are so adorable! For a second there, I thought it might be a ghost or something!

Just one thing: I can't get how the title is connected to the story and I was curious if there's some underlying meaning?

I actually tried to make it seem like there is a little bit of suspense in it.

The title is leaning towards Ryan, if he can forgive Colin for not waking him up or forget the little fright event he had.

*wipes forehead* phew, first time writing Ry/Col ficlet and I did justice.
Yeah, I'll be on when I can but I seriously doubt that I'll have free time this year due to JobCorps.
I hope it was okay to have Ry freaked a little bit... When I have time I will try to write another ficlet for everyone.

First time writing a Ry/Col ficlet and really I'm glad that this made your Christmas emi_rosa ^_^

When I finished writing it I was hoping that you liked/enjoyed this, though brightened you up that's great to know I did that. I feel happy becuase I accomplished this wonderful ficlet for you.
