So I know what you're saying. You're looking through all of last year's stories and wondering how you're ever going to have the time to read through all of them before nominating's up, yeah? Believe me, it's a daunting task (though well worth it) but maybe you're strapped for time, bogged down with work or school, and you just can't sort through all the gems out there.

That's why it's time for the WL_FANFICTION 2009 REC POST! Woo!

So come on in! Give us what you got! To keep this from becoming another huge list, let's limit to 5 recs from the past year/person, but give us more than just a title and a summary. Leave a comment and tell us what really moved you to love this story. Get the names of those authors out there and get us to love them just as much as you! ^_^

To start it off, let me throw a couple stories out there that made an impact on me. (More to follow, I'm sure, when I read up some more.)

Blindlyluv - Changeling of Darkness:
What's really stood out to me in Blindlyluv's writing in general, and in this story in particular, is a penchant and a skill for the macabre. She writes such deliciously horrifying descriptions of dark and disgusting things. It really entices the senses, and in this story, where Ryan and Colin adopt a young girl...thing, the world it's set in is built around darkness and violence, and it's an intriguing landscape that's really enjoyable to read about.

Beccierocks - Push
I had to choose between two of her stories, and I chose this one because I think it's the stronger of the two, but You Forget Your Place is also quite the good read. Anyway, what drew me to this story was the odd pairing of Jeff/Josie, but it was Josie's enigmatic and bordering on domineering personality that kept me reading. Plus it's kind of really hot. ^_^ It takes place in a very dream-like atmosphere, probably due to the fact that the story was based on a dream, but that doesn't take away from the little details that weave this impressive story.

Now let's hear yours!

M'okay, lessee here. Amoung the thousands (lojk) I read recently and sent off to Sungreen for Feedback month, I think some of the ones that stuck out to me:

Almostjulie - Fortuitous & The Small Stuff
I'm a sucker for Greg, and with Greg/Clive and a Greg/Jeff, I've found my nummy guilty pleasures. Especially Fortuitous. That cracked me up

Asuka14 - Hawaii
It's sounds so plausible for a Col/Ry, especially with Colin having to leave before Ryan stops drinking.

Ktnflag - Two Plus Two Equals Four
A slice of life from Deb's perspective on the living soap opera that is Whose Line. It's eerily accurate, and depressing, and you see how much of an enigma ColinandRyan are to her. Poor Pat, tho!

Sungreen: I Got Your Back
Love this purely for Arrogant!Colin who fucks up and tries to put it all on Jeff. Yay for a protective Wayne "I got your back, man," yusssss

Aww, thanks for the nom, PD! lol, Clay - prick!Colin really just has a cameo in my story. He was fun to write though! I may have to do more with him later on.

Yeah, I always have the same issue. I started going through the archives back in November and I made some notes on stories to keep in mind for the awards as I was reading :)

That's funny, because it could very well be so true! The nicest guys in the world are often times the biggest pricks! (Same goes, of course, for women sometimes, save they're called bitches)

OK, a few off the top of my head, though I will undoubtedly think of more to add later...

X_Carnivale_X - all her work, really. I think the two that most stand out for me are Spanish Doll, a gorgeously written angsty Jeff/Chip, and The Lamb, another Jeff/Chip which is about Jeff having an eating disorder and Chip finding it a turn on. My description makes it sound bizzare, but it's very well done - read it!

Goblover - Crash Into Me. From all the gushing, rambling feedback I gave her, she knows how I feel about this one. I plugged it on my journal too. It's a fascinating, complex, and heartbreaking story with the best characterization of Chip I've ever come across. He's a totally fucked up, lost soul that she still managed to make completely sympathetic.

PDGlyph - His Killer Sense Of Humor. lol, I swear I was gonna rec this one anyway, even before your rec for me ;) Colin as a serial killer - and somehow, still sympathetic. A great read.

More to come later on.

First off, thank you so much Clay for the rec! You have no idea how flattered I am that you like my story so much! =) Especially since the pairing makes absolutely no sense whatsoever! =P I am honoured!

I have a couple of recs here that spring to mind but will add some more later after a more through search.

PDGlyph - Private I Vampire - Words cannot describe my love for this story! I am not really a vampire fan but to me, the vampire aspect in this story was secondary to the amazing plot development of the Colin/Ryan/Greg triangle. What I mostly love is that Colin is not the melodramatic hero that we follow around. We see his dark side as well and when we are following his POV, this has a very interesting effect. Basically, love it, love you, can't wait for the next installment! *takes pills*

Clay - Prince Charming Isn't Coming - Sorry if I have the name wrong. I just like this oddly because it isn't happy. It's angsty but it's true and I like that about it. It features a range of human emotions and the portrayal of Ryan is one of the truest I have read for a long time. Just really like it and good work Clay! =)

x_carnivale_x - Dylatov Pass - Obvious choice but come on, it rocks and we all know it! This story...I actually used to get excited when a new chapter was posted and was mildly addicted to it as it was being posted. I have a thing about vulnerable characters in a story and you don't get much more vulnerable than Jeff here. It broke my heart to read of his suffering and actually hoped he would be ok. I also like stories with a bit of depth to them and there is no denying a lot of thought has gone into this story with the whole backstory. Well done for creating such an engaging story and I would suggest everyone read it (Chip/Jeff fan or not! I wasn't and then I read this!)

OK, I have two more...

Newbiepoet Love Over Gold - an amazingly powerful portrayal of a very broken Greg and Jen's struggles to keep him together. It's a very sparse piece, just snippets of scenes from their life, but she writes so vividly that it's a punch in the gut.

Holl_e_wood Do You Trust Me? (may still show as Untitled in the fic list, but it does have a title on the story page) - An angsty Ryan/Colin where all works out in the end. How can I not love this one? :) Her characterization of Ryan is really good - she captures the anger that he was often radiating during the last few seasons of Drewsline.

Read them! Now! Hurry! We'll wait for you!

I have three to recommend:

Incognizance - By Lawlzify.

Deeply moving story, beautiful, intricately written. She hasn't posted much of it, but what she has written is haunting and tantalyzing. I really recommend you give it a read. It's a Jeff / Chip fic.

Love Over Gold - By Newbiepoet

This story is less of a full-length story and more of snippets and flashbacks from Greg's life, but when strung together, it just gives the reader a deep insight into the writer's views of Greg and his thoughts and past. Very enjoyable to read.

Just One More Night - By Fbrobey

This Greg / Josie / Ryan love triangle story is just a great story. Not much more to say about it, other than I think you should all give it a look. All of Flo's stuff is quite excellent. She deserves more credit than she gets.

A couple more for ya!

A Dozen Red Roses - Fbrobey - This story had me more hooked than Dylatov at the time! (and that's sayig something! Trust me!) I just love the romance. So sweet and uncomplicated. Love it as a bit of escapism from my cynical view of Valentines Day as a whole. Come on girls! Wouldn't we all love our men to be a bit more like Greg in this story??? =P I am a fan of all of Flo's stuff but this deserves special mention in my eyes.

Business and Pleasure - Saiya_Tina - Maybe I am just going through a Brad phase atm (I really am! He has his moments in my eyes) but this story is just so good! Just really like the idea behind it. It's quite light atm and it's quite heartwarming to read Brad and Ryan's romance blossom. But I have a feeling it is going to get dark. It a most intriguing story and I strongly recommend it and hope it gets completed. Also worth a read for Wayne in this story. One of the best portrayals of him I have ever read!

Just checked and these are both from this year. No more boo boos this time! =D Cookies please! =P

I have to add one more. And then I'll stop. Promise!

Welovethelegend - We'll Both Forget The Breeze. Gorgeously written, angsty Jeff/Chip. I stumbled across it about a week ago and was blown away. I just read it again this afternoon and I've been thinking about it all afternoon.

Okay, posting another:

Business and Pleasure by Saiya Tina: I have a sweet tooth. I also like 'buy, sell or trade pleasure' fics, and this one has you hoping Brad and Ryan's 'Utopia' lasts even though you know it won't
