Crying….
A song fic
by blindlyluv
Note This is my first attempt at writing a song fic. Am very open to comments and constructive criticism. Roy Orbison's "Crying".

Start crying.

I was all right for a while, I could smile for a while
But I saw you last night, you held my hand so tight
As you stopped to say “Hello”
Aww you wished me well, you couldn’t tell

The applause thrilled him, filled him. He carried a huge grin throughout the entire show. He told himself that it was just as always. But his heart wasn’t in it. It had been a good show… even a great one. He was signing autographs and taking photos with fans who loved him.

He had made it… His dream for his life had been attained. He should be over-joyed. Why were his eyes brimming with tears? Why did the dressing room, which had always felt too cramped, now feel like a deserted wasteland?

That I’d been cry-i-i-i-ng over you, cryi-i-i-nng over you
Then you said “so long”. Left me standing all alone
Alone and crying, crying, crying, cry-i-ing
It’s hard to understand but the touch of your hand
Can start me crying

All his old Whose Line mates were there tonight. They came back stage and slapped him on the back, hugged and laughed. Promises were made to “get together soon.” Then … there were just the two of them.

“We had a good run Brad, had a lot of fun, made ourselves….” Brad could tell Colin was struggling for words, feeling slightly guilty for leaving… for finally following his heart. He smiled that sweet smile, gave Brad’s hand a final squeeze and walked away, with a spring in his step which had been missing for years.

I thought that I was over you but it’s true, so true
I love you even more than I did before but darling what can I do-o-o-o
For you don’t love me and I’ll always be

Ryan had been waiting a discrete distance down the hall, giving the two an opportunity to say a private goodbye. As Brad turned to go into his dressing room before more tears came, his brimming eyes couldn’t ignore the happily re-united couple embrace and kiss each other deeply before taking their leave... He wished he hadn’t heard Colin’s whispered words to Ryan, “Take me home, my love…”

Cryi-i-i-ng over you, cry-i-i-i-ng over you.
Yes now you’re gone and from this moment on
I’ll be crying, crying, crying, cry-i-i-i-ng
Yeah crying, crying, o-o-o-o-ver you

“Crying,” by Roy Orbison and Joe Meison.

Aw, poor Brad. His heartache is really palable.

*sniff*

Crying is one of my favorite songs, and you did a great job of capturing its mood. Very nicely done.
