Colin took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes tiredly. This divorce was giving him a headache, but he just couldn’t do it anymore. She was controlling and spiteful, and he knew she didn’t love him anymore.
Not that he loved her much anymore either. She had moved out of the house an into her “gentleman friend’s” penthouse apartment. He knew that she had been having an affair with this man for some years now, but it didn’t bother him.
He had been having an affair with Ryan for more years than he had known her. A knock on the study door startled him, and he looked up as the door opened, and Luke stepped inside the room with a steaming mug.
“I made you some tea, Dad. I know this crap has been giving you headaches.” Colin smiled lovingly at his son, genuinely touched.
“Thank you, Luke. You’re a great kid, and I’m proud to call you son.” Luke’s smile mirrored his fathers, and he turned to leave. He stopped and looked back at his dad, the smile still on his face.
“You know, Dad, I’m glad that Uncle Ryan finally proposed to you last night. It’s about time you two made it legal.” He grinned at his father’s blush and left him to his tea and divorce papers.
