A.N.: This came out of nowhere, really. Sounds like someone's got some anger issues. And, frankly, I think it's me. *sigh*



You can't imagine what it's like living with the man. Everyone thinks he's Mr. Sweetheart. Mr. Wonderful. Mr. Adorable. Yeah, well, got news for ya. He's not. He's a slob. He snores. He drools. He doesn't do laundry. He leaves the gas tank empty when he's done with the car.

The fans love him, though. Oh yeah, they're all googly moogly fan-girly all over him, how "adorable" he is, especially with those big puppy dog eyes that he blinks and flashes when anyone teases him about that shiny pate of his. Mr. Innocent. Heh. Then he gets in the car and as we drive away, he lets out this huge snort, like it's all a big joke, because that's what it is to him: a joke.

The world has him painted one way. I get to see him another way. I find him still sitting at the slots at midnight and convince him it's time he got some sleep. I take away the cigarette he's about to light, a favor he's asked of me, since his will-power is somewhat lacking in these matters. I write down the messages from his wife when he's "in the shower." (Did you know that "in the shower" is Colin-speak for "puking in toilet after too many beers"?) I make him giggle when he gets weepy about missing his lover, about the irony of "Big Wing Boy."

Only the Shadow knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men.

That was really cool! I like how it kind of shatters Colin's stage persona. It's tough to remember sometimes, but they're just people like everyone else...

And points to you for working in "Big Wing Boy"! That's one of my favorite Colin and Ryan scenes ever! *g*

I guess that's close to what I was trying to do. This came out of nowhere, but it was sort of inspired by "Dirty Little Secret," in a roundabout way. There was a line in there about Ryan hating Colin and Colin saying he knew. He can't be all sweetness and light, can he? He's usually so quiet. Something else has gotta be going on in there sometimes. *G*

I liked that. I mean, I wouldn't want to think that Colin's really like that, I guess (I'd like to stay in my fantasyland, rofl), and I wouldn't want to read him like that all the time, so I think you made it work, like this. A lot. Because this is the third time I've come back to read it. ^_^
