Pairing: Brad/Colin friendship

A/N: I had the great fortune of seeing the Colin and Brad show for a second time in Denver Colorado over the weekend. After the show this little ficlet wouldn't leave me alone, so I had to write this, pretty much when I got back to the hotel. I was wondering, that since the two of them put on such a high energy show, what in the world do they do to bring themselves down after such an amazing high. I know when I'm on stage..I have the same problem. So this is just something that I thought of. Please read and review, I know they arn't the most popular pairing, but check it out anyway. Most importantly...ENJOY!!

Colin and Brad were absolutely exhausted. After finishing their show for the night not too long ago, they were both relieved to finally have a chance to relax. Well at least until they had to leave in the morning for the next city where they would be performing. Touring was really hard on both of them, and any moment that they had to relax, was something, that without a doubt, they both looked forward to. The two friends climbed out of the limo and stared up at their hotel with a yawn.

“My room in twenty minutes?” Colin asked

“Of course.” Brad agreed

Colin shuffled through the hotel’s double doors, Brad following not far behind. Ever since they had begun to tour together, they had developed a ritual, a chance to be together every night after the show. They would share a drink with each other on the balcony of Colin’s hotel room; it was a chance to unwind, to relax, and for the two of them to spend time with each other, because although they spent a lot of time together wile they were touring, they never seemed to grow tired of the other. When Brad arrived at Colin’s room he found the door cracked open slightly. He chuckled as he came through the door; that was Colin, always trusting and never the least bit worried about what could happen next. Brad found Colin on the balcony wrapped in a blanket, a glass of wine in one hand and a cigarette in the other. A small table sat in between Colin’s chair and another empty chair on the other side. On that table lay a similar hotel blanket and Brad’s drink of choice, a rum and coke. Colin didn’t even have to ask what he wanted to drink anymore, he knew and Brad was glad that he did. They were more comfortable with each other, and he liked that. Brad sat in his chair, and carefully sipped at his drink, letting the liquid slide down his throat. The two friends sat silently, letting their eyes glide over the darkened city skyline. Things looked so peaceful at night, and watching the city lights flicker on and off, made Brad calm, just by seeing them.

“Good show tonight. You did well.” Colin murmured breaking the peaceful silence

“Mmm thanks. You too man.” Brad grinned

Silence overtook the balcony once again as the two men began to relax, their minds slowly beginning to unwind after their busy night. Brad began to laugh, his shoulders shaking, as a toothy grin crept across his face.

“What’s so funny?” Colin asked obviously lost

“Our audience. I’m amazed at the suggestions we get ya’ know.”

“We’ve got good fans.” Colin yawned

Brad nodded without saying a word.

“Colin?”

The older man turned his head to see a concerned thoughtful look crossing his friends face.

“Yes?”

“Thank you for touring with me. There’s no one else that I would want to be doing this with. I just want you to know that.”

Colin smiled and rested his hand on Brad’s shoulder giving it a gentle squeeze, before turning back to look at the starry sky ahead of him. He took another sip of wine, and let it glide down his throat before speaking again.

“Thank you Brad. I feel the same way my friend.”
