Date: 2005-12-29 05:05 am (UTC)Oh, you have no idea how happy this fic made me. =) =) =) I shut myself in the study and read it really quickly when I got it, but then went back and reread it more carefully, like, immediately. And I just reread it (*coughs* two or three times) just now. And I still smile goofily through it *shakes head* I don't know how you do it.
I'm torn between giving a sort of ... well, long, I guess, comment and just not freaking you (and everyone else who happens across this) out. With my over-the-top freakishness (couldn't think of a better word). But hey. I give you (semi) long comments sometimes, and this was *cuddles* my Secret Santa fic. (*whispers* I think it deserves one ;))
I'm not going to go through every single sentence (bwah, in case you were worried ... *rolls eyes*), but the opening lines just really stuck with me (just went back to reread again) because I can see that so clearly, and because it's something (well, semi, I guess :P) normal. You know, not exclusive to Ryan and Colin. And ... I'm confusing myself, but hey.
I loved that Ryan hadn't opened a bottle of wine before. Not sure why; made me smile at the image that brought to mind. Aw. *smiles again* Oh, and I loved that he mentions his mom and that he wears flannel. Just ... because. *shrugs*
Oooh, and Ryan giving Colin the bottle when they're toasting? Made me smile in that way you smile when you don't want to be grinning (because then people will think you're really ... random) so you try not to, and end up looking ... OK, this is pointless. Back to the fic. *sighs* Sorry.
Them fighting over the wine made me squee out loud like the total teenage girl that I am *hangs head* ;) And Colin pushing their cheeks together has got to be one of the best (well, firstly, visuals, lol) ... ugh, word? One of the best ... things-I've-read-in-a-fic? *sighs* I really can't think of the word I mean, but just know that I think it's awesome. lol. And that's all that should matter *pauses* *smiles again*
Oh, backtracking slightly? "Um, ew," was one of the funniest (and bizarrely) cute lines. I (forward-tracking? *snorts* Going back to where I was? Something) think my favourite line had to be, "You're being really gay." God that cracked me up. And them on the couch together? Was SO adorable.
I liked that Ryan sort of made the first move, but that Colin kind of (for lack of a better way to word it) met him halfway, you know? Like, it wasn't "do you taste like cherries too? Yeah? OK *tackles*"; but it wasn't 'hmm, I like lying here. I'll just kiss Ryan now.' *pauses* No, I don't know what that was either. Ignore it. And, uh, me.
*sighs* Them making out *trails off* ... *fans self* ;) And the tiny "Yeah?", I really liked (again, in a way I don't think I can explain.) (Although, can I add, that when Colin got up, I was like Ryan. Something like, "Oh, shit.") ;) But the end made me smile again *makes tiny 'aw' noise*
*bounces up and down* I really did like this. Thank you :) <3 I feel like saying that it was really, really good sounds just like I'm brushing it off, but it waaaaaas. And it was so cute (just what you were going for, I'm sure *sighs*).
