Trick and treat
Colin and Greg were outside grabbing a smoke and a cuddle after a long session of taping. England, perpetually shrouded in fog which seemed to assume a spectral ambiance this Halloween evening.
Colin peered into the dense opaque air about them, sensing more than seeing... hearing-- "What was that?" his voice quivered as he looked back toward Greg, only to find.... nothing. His friend was nowhere to be seen, nor was the building they'd both been leaning on.
He heard the oddest sound, it could only be described as clopping. Horse's hooves on, he looked down at his feet which he noted were sheathed in some odd vintage wear and beneath them were cobblestones.
He found himself to be dressed scantily in some period dress... such a street walker might wear. "Why, why, always the woman?" he moaned.
"GREG!!?!" he shrieked. Okay, he was going into full panic mode. The fog had taken on a yellow glow and a horse drawn carriage was slowly coming into view.
"You need work girl? Get on, not a fit night out for man nor beast... and now with the Ripper..."
Colin didn't need to hear any more. He vaulted into the carriage and exhaled sharply as his eyes focused on Greg sitting across from him, holding tight to a satchel, looking somewhat predatory.
:Greg, how'd you get here? What's going on? Greg? GREG!???
Greg had unfastened his satchel and was removing what might be a surgeons tools. He addressed Colin.
Sorry, I don't know where this Greg of yours is, but I think I can help you. My name is Jack."
His smile was not friendly.
