This idea came to me after I watched a particular episode of Whose Line....enjoy!

Colin winced as he gingerly sat down on the sofa in his dressing room. He had landed hard on his battery pack in a game of action replay earlier and, although he'd laughed it off at the time, it was causing him a fair amount of pain in his back. He leant back carefully, letting out a sigh and closing his eyes as he relaxed his weight into the soft cushions. No sooner had he done this than there was a knock at the door.

"Col?" a voice called.

"Come in Ry," Colin replied without opening his eyes.

He heard the door open and Ryan walk in, closing the door again and coming to stand in front of him. Then he felt an arm come down on either side of his body before lips gently met his. Colin smiled into the kiss, opening his eyes as Ryan pulled away and studied his face.

"How's my lightning rod of hate?" he asked, smiling softly.

"I'm fine," Colin lied.

Ryan looked at him sceptically as he sat down and turned to him. "Nice try Col but this is me you're talking to. I know you're in pain."

Colin sighed. "Ok, so it's a little sore," he conceded, "but I'll be fine."

"Want me to make you feel better?" Ryan asked as he put a hand on Colin's leg, eyes sparkling mischeivously.

Colin raised his eyebrows and grinned. "I don't think my back could take that Ry."

"Take what?" Ryan replied, pretending to be confused. "I was just gonna get you some painkillers."

Colin let out a laugh which quickly turned to a grimace as it jarred his back. Ryan's smile quickly changed to a look of concern.

"Come here," Ryan said, gently lying Colin down flat so that his head was in Ryan's lap and his body was stretched out along the sofa. "Better?" he asked.

"Mmmm," Colin replied, closing his eyes and relaxing as Ryan began stroking his face gently. The warmth emanating from Ryan and the gentle caress on his cheek combined to lull Colin to sleep after only a few minutes.

Ryan watched as Colin drifted off, continuing his gentle caress and smiling down at his lover. He thought back over the day's taping, remembering how Colin had come to his aid with his lightning rod of hate comment, and felt a rush of love for the man sleeping peacefully in front of him. Sure they made jokes at each other's expense on the show, but when someone else took things too far Colin was always the first to leap to his defence and vice versa.

The moment when Drew had been forced to deny that they were a couple in response to fan mail had hit a little close to home though. He didn't think Drew suspected anything and he and Colin had joked around with it, glancing at each other nervously for the audience's benefit, but it had come as a shock. They would definitely have to be more careful.

Ryan was brought out of his thoughts by a knock on the door. He froze for a moment but quickly decided that he wasn't going to move and wake Colin, consequences be damned.  As it was he needn't have worried as it was Greg's voice that called from outside the door.

"Hey, are you two decent?"

Ryan breathed a sigh of relief. Greg was the only person that knew about their relationship, being their closest friend.

"Come in Greg," he called, trying to keep his voice low, as he resumed stroking Colin's face.

The door opened and Greg walked in, closing the door behind him. He stopped when he saw Colin, looking at him worriedly, before sitting down opposite.

"Is Col alright?" he asked softly.

"No," Ryan replied quietly, looking down at Colin, "he hurt his back more than he let on."

"Oh man, I knew it," Greg said, shaking his head. "I thought I saw him wince a few times afterwards. You know, Drew was way out of line laughing like that. You want me to tell him and kick his ass?"

Ryan smiled. Greg was almost as protective of Colin as he was.

"No leave it, he wasn't to know," he replied as Colin stirred before settling down again.

"Hey, close call with the fans huh?" Greg asked. "Did you know that so many had written in about the two of you?"

Ryan shook his head. "No, it was news to us. Thank God no-one took it seriously, although I suppose we can't keep it a secret forever."

Greg watched as Ryan looked down at Colin with an expression of utter love and devotion.

"Man, you really love him," Greg said as he smiled at the two of them.

Ryan looked up, straight into Greg's eyes. "Completely," he replied firmly.

"Well you know I'm happy for you both," Greg grinned as he got to his feet. "Hell, there should be a picture of you two in the dictionary under the word soulmates." He walked to the door and grasped the handle before pausing and looking back at Ryan.

"You know, maybe what happened today was a sign," Greg said seriously. "Maybe it's time to tell everyone that you love each other so you can stop hiding and just be yourselves. Maybe it'll be easier than you think."

Ryan stared at him as he opened the door and walked out, closing it behind him. He looked back down at Colin and smiled before whispering, "Maybe."
