Title: Business and Pleasure
Rating: PG 13? Just slightly high for a make-out session.
Pairing: Brad/Ryan
Summary for the chapter: In which Brad receives a surprise, has a nice day and spends time with Ryan.
Overall Summary: Brad's running his own large business and has everything but what he wants the most: someone to be there for him. After 'purchasing' Ryan from the Utopia group to serve the purpose, he slowly realizes that he's breaking their most important rule: he's falling in love with him
A/N: Could I get a tag for this story?
Brad moaned as Ryan placed a soft kiss on his neck before nipping his way up, along the jawline to the earlobe which he promptly took between his lips. He slid his arms around Ryan, holding onto him tightly. The chair was hard against his back, but the warm body on his lap made up for that. He slid one hand down the curve Ryan’s back and along his thigh, cradling it in his hand before taking advantage of Ryan’s gasp to force his tongue into his open mouth. He felt him chuckle and couldn’t help grin himself, letting his lips drift down to the long graceful neck, nipping at the pulse point.
Ryan let out a sharp gasp, his arms tightening around Brad’s neck, “Oh Brad, I need....”
“What do you need?” Brad whispered against his skin.
“I need.....”
*BRRRRRRRIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGG!*
Brad woke up with a curse, glaring at his alarm clock. Not again! Just when his dream was getting to the good part, that darn alarm had to start ringing! He looked over at the calendar on the wall and this time he did curse because he just remembered that he had to show early for an important director’s meeting and if he didn’t move fast, he was very definitely going to be late.
After a quick shower, he checked the time and let out a sigh as he realized he would, once again, have to skip breakfast. Though he didn’t go hungry, he preferred having a nice home-cooked breakfast rather than something he got from a coffee shop or deli. He quickly donned his suit and tie, combing his hair to flatten before grabbing his briefcase.
“Bruce, call Jason and tell him to bring out the car,” Brad ordered as he strapped on his watch.
“Yes sir,” Bruce nodded, “And the young Master has asked for you to go to the kitchen.”
“The young Master?” Brad frowned.
“Ryan, sir, I know he prefers to be called by his first name, but I find it odd,” Bruce smiled, “Nice boy.”
Brad swallowed minutely. Last thing he wanted to do was see the reason for his morning wood when he couldn’t do anything about it. But brushing Ryan off when he had asked for him would definitely not impress him.
Oh sweet Lord, can this day get any worse? Brad thought with a sigh before he entered the kitchen.
“Brad!” Ryan perked up, “I had a feeling you were going to be late. Your breakfast is in the box on the table. It’s nothing special, just French toast with sausage. There’s coffee in that insulated mug and orange juice in the bottle. You can have it on the way to work cuz Bruce mentioned you’re running late and-”
Ryan stopped himself and grinned sheepishly, “I’m rambling, aren’t I?”
“Just a bit,” Brad smiled back before looking at the breakfast he had packed for him, “You made all this for me?”
“Well, it’s nothing special....there were people in Utopia who could cook loads better. Bruce said he’d teach me to cook though, so soon I’ll be able to make better stuff. Wait, you’re probably used to a big fancy breakfast! Aw man, now I feel silly, I should have asked what you liked instead of assuming! Sometimes, I am such a-”
“Ryan!” Brad interrupted with a chuckle, “I love the breakfast. Thank you so much for getting up and making this for me. I really appreciate it. And no, I don’t have a fancy breakfast, I’m normally always eating out cuz I don’t get time at home.”
“Well, now you can!” Ryan said brightly, “and soon, I’ll be able to make you some real nice stuff!”
Brad couldn’t help but stare at the young man who was currently bouncing like a five year old. It was times like this when he just felt like leaning over and....
“Brad? You’re going to be late.”
Brad snapped out of his thoughts and looked over at the clock. He was so screwed. “Crap!” he squeaked before grabbing the parcels and running out, shouting another thanks over his shoulder, catching Ryan waving at him.
On his way, he opened the breakfast box and smiled at the sight. The French toast had sausage for eyes and a nose with ketchup for a smile. There was a tiny note tucked in along with a napkin. He opened it, laughing at the ‘Enjoy!’ written in quickly scribbled letters before digging in. The toast was slightly cold and the sausage slightly overcooked.
It was the best breakfast Brad had ever had.

“Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Alright, I got it. See you then,” Brad shut the phone before letting out a triumphant cry. Ryan’s small gesture in the morning seemed to have put a good luck charm on him because he had had nothing but excellent luck the entire day. His lunch had been made perfectly, his internet connection had been the best he had ever had and now the company he had been trying to purchase for over a year had agreed to listen to his terms. He glanced at his watch, seeing it was around 6 in the evening. Normally, he wouldn’t care, would work until nearly midnight, but today he was eager to go back and see Ryan.
Brad was also aware that he had carried an empty box with him all day and had placed it on his desk, staring at it with a goofy grin whenever he managed to. His secretary had given him a funny look along with several others, but he ignored all of them, thinking only about how just one small gesture had totally turned his day around.
After locking up his office, Brad headed back, thinking about what Ryan might have done with his day. Whether he had gone out or stayed at home and looked around the place or taken Bruce’s offer and just learnt how to cook.
“Ah, Master Brad!” Bruce said much more brightly than Brad ever remembered, “How nice to see you home so early! I daresay the young Master had something to do with it?”
Brad blushed and quickly changed the topic, “Why do you call him ‘young Master’? I mean, besides the obvious.”
Bruce shrugged with a small smile, “He refuses to let me call him ‘Master Ryan’ and I refuse to call him just ‘Ryan’, after all, he is your guest. We agreed on ‘young Master’ albeit barely.”
“Where is he anyway?” Brad looked around.
“Upstairs. He just learned why there has to be a cover for the blender,” Bruce said with a chuckle.
Brad grinned as well, imagining Ryan’s expression when whatever he had been blending had, for lack of a better word, exploded.
“He’s a good man,” Bruce’s voice broke through his thoughts. He gave Brad a sly look, “he would really be good for you.”
The business man blushed, looking down, “I-I don’t know what y-you’re talking about.”
The butler rolled his eyes, “Master Brad, I’ve seen you smile and laugh more for in the 20 hours he’s been here than you have in nearly 20 years. It’s obvious you like him.”
“Right, that’s enough out of you,” Brad fast-walked past Bruce, heading up to his room to get rid of the flush which was because of the heat, dammit, not because of a certain blonde in another room.
After a relaxing bath, he changed into his night clothes before heading down to the living room. He spotted a long form sprawled on the couch and walked over, peering down into Ryan’s sleeping face.
He allowed a soft smile to cross his face as he looked down at the youth softly snoring. Like he had expected, Ryan couldn’t properly fit on the couch due to his height but had somehow managed to curl up like a cat and make himself comfortable.
He stared at the innocent features and felt a rush of adoration for this gawky, sweet man. Considering he came from a dark underground chain, Brad had expected that he would find someone dark and jaded, only acting happy to ensure that someone would purchase him. However, Ryan seemed to be nothing if not genuine. He had been in his house for barely a day and Brad already felt as though he was living in a new world.
“Dinner’s ready!” Bruce called from the dining room, causing Ryan to wake with a start.
“Mmph,” he let out s soft sound before sitting up and stretching, before looking up and smiling at Brad.
“Hey, you’re back! Bruce said you normally come home late!”
“I got off early,” Brad grinned back. Ryan’s cheer was infectious.
“How did you like the breakfast? Bruce taught me two more dishes today! I’ll make them for you tomorrow!”
“I’d like that,” he said softly.
Ryan bounded off the couch and headed to the dining room, chatting excitedly about the parts of the house he had seen, the pool in the back- “It’s like a mini lake! That’s so cool!” – the large garden – “You could grow enough stuff to feed the country!” – the pond in the middle of the garden – “I tried fishing there. Caught a frog and it was all slimy!”- and the wood right at the end of the property – “I think I saw a bear!”
“Sounds like you had a busy day,” Brad noted as they sat down.
“Mmhm!” Ryan nodded, “I acquainted myself with everything and I don’t like the blender.”
“I heard,” he said dryly.
When the food was placed on the table, Ryan piled his plate and then set it aside before piling another plate.
“Uh, if you’re that hungry, you can just take seconds, ya know?” Brad looked confused.
“Oh, it’s not for me, it’s for
Brad shook his head with a smile, “You really are an amazing person.”
Ryan blushed and ducked his head, a shy smile on his face, “Thanks.”
After a good dinner, Brad sat in front of the fire while Ryan helped Bruce with the dishes. After waiting a couple minutes Brad called out.
“Ryan, Bruce likes doing the dishes. You don’t have to help him.”
“He’s right, young Master,” Bruce added, “plus, you’ve been working all day. You can rest now.”
“Are you sure?” Ryan asked and then grinned at Bruce’s nod, “Alright then!” he headed over to where Brad was sitting and plopped down on the carpet in front of the couch Brad sat on.
“So how was your day?” Ryan asked.
“Brilliant. I’ve never had such a lucky day an a long time!” Brad smiled at the thought.
“That’s good! I had a good day too!”
“I heard. Sounded like you were pretty busy.”
“
“Uh, I think I have to work that day-”
“Aw, come on! It’s Saturday! No one works over the weekend!” Ryan gave him a puppy-eyed look.
“Well....” Brad pretended to look undecided, but inwardly, the puppy eyes had already won him over.
“Please?” Ryan added a pout to the look and Brad was lost.
“Fine,” he chuckled.
“Great! We’re gonna have the best time ever!” he looked up at the watch, “I think I’m gonna turn in. It’s getting late.” He stood up.
“I think I will too.” Brad got to his feet as well.
“So....I’ll see you tomorrow?” Ryan asked.
“Yup.”
Ryan stepped forward and placed a sweet kiss on Brad’s cheek much like how he had the night before, “Night Brad.”
This time, Brad was a bit quicker. Before Ryan could pull away, his hand shot out, grabbing onto the back of Ryan’s head, taking a second to feel the silky strands before placing a soft kiss on Ryan’s forehead. The young man looked shocked for a second before he smiled and headed to his room. Brad stared at his back until it was out of sight before returning the sentiment.
“Night Ryan.”
