Ryan sighed as he saw Greg’s eyes shift their attention from him to someone behind him and waited for the usual ‘Going to the bathroom’ excuse while Greg pursued his new fuck. He didn’t have to wait long before Greg gave the expected reason and abandoned his seat opposite Ryan at the table, heading into the bathroom, right after a tall, muscled man who had been making eyes at him the entire meal. It was something he had begun to expect from Greg and it no longer hurt nearly as much as it used to, but he still couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed and maybe even a little angry.
When they had started their ‘relationship’ a year ago, Greg had made it clear that he would rather cut his dick, balls and all, off before he settled down with one person and Ryan had agreed to it without hesitation, seeing as how he had been interested in a temporary fling as well, but even he had to admit that he felt that he wanted just a little more from the arrangement than he was getting. Hell, he would have been content if Greg just agreed to listen to him for a moment while they were out together before chasing down the first person who gave him a look. Even so, he still knew that saying so would just amuse Greg to no length as well as earn him the usual ‘it’s just a fuck’ speech that he had memorized months ago.
He drew out his cell phone and gave a ring to the only person he knew who was in the area as well, probably scoping out clubs for a chick. Normally, he would call Colin, but the Canadian had just flown in and was suffering from jet lag and he wasn’t selfish enough to disturb his well earned rest.
“Sup, Ry?” Brad Sherwood’s cheery voice sounded from the other end, “Any reason you’re consuming valuable search time?”
“Shut it, Sherwood. If I know you, you’ve probably already got two girls with you, one of which you offended who is probably walking away as we speak,” Ryan snarked.
Brad looked around the club to make sure that Ryan wasn’t in it before frowning into the phone, “How the hell do you do that?”
“I know you. It happened to you every time you clubbed when we were in Second City,” Ryan responded absently, “Anyway, I wanted to ask when you thought you’d be leaving.”
“Any reason?”
“I need a lift back to the hotel and no cabs will run this late.”
“What’re you doing out this late without a ride?”
“Greg.”
“Ah,” the phone was silent at Brad’s end for a moment, “Fine, I’ll just leave. But be out when I come by or I’ll just keep going. I’m missing out on scoring!”
“Just get over here. Please,” Ryan sighed, rubbing his eyes before glancing back at the bathroom, “There’s no telling when that idiot’ll finish and even then, he’ll probably forget I’m here and I don’t want to walk back.”
“I’ll never understand why you stay with him,” Brad shook his head before clicking his phone shut and throwing the girl he had been talking to an apologetic look before making his way out of the club. Ryan was going to get an earful for this.
Twenty minutes later, Brad was driving Ryan back to the apartment he shared with Greg on the other side of town and silently mourned the loss of a night of partying, but looking over at Ryan who seemed so dejected, it was hard to get mad at him. He understood all too well the crap Greg put him through day after day and felt that he could put up with at least a little bit of trouble since Ryan went through boatloads of it.
“So what did he do now?” Brad asked, breaking the silence between them. Ryan looked over at him with a questioning look before he understood what was being asked to him.
“Oh. The same thing as always. We were having dinner and he saw some hottie to run off with,” Ryan sighed.
“Male?”
“Yup.”
“Ouch.”
“I swear, of all the people I had to love, it had to be him,” Ryan slouched further into his seat, his attention back to the passing scenery.
“I don’t see why you don’t just break up with him,” Brad sighed, taking a careful turn as a young idiot broke the signal and darted past.
“Watch it asshole!” Ryan yelled, despite the fact he wasn’t the one driving, “Dunno. I’ve thought about it, but I just can’t go through with it....whenever he gets back home he puts on this whole ‘Nothing happened, it was just a friend’ act and then tells me ‘you’re all I need, why would I go after someone else?’ and I believe him each time.”
“Martyrdom, thy name is Ryan,” Brad shook his head, “Honestly, you should know better by now. All he’s interested in are looks and dick size. You get hit on every time we hit a club, why don’t you just, I dunno, start fishing again?”
“You’re not asking anything I haven’t asked myself before,” Ryan smiled slightly, “But I love that fish.”
“Why?”
Ryan didn’t have an answer to that and so just shrugged, getting lost in his thoughts again. Brad snickered slightly and then just started laughing outright, startling Ryan in letting out a chuckle as well.
“What’s the matter with you?” Ryan asked.
“Just thinking about Second City and the UK Whose Line. You’ve never taken the easy road, have you?” Brad snorted, “If there was a straight road to somewhere, you’d always take the roundabout way just for fun. Even if you got lost.”
Ryan punched him in the shoulder but couldn’t help but agree. Brad was no doubt referring to the time he and Colin had decided to have a road trip for fun and Ryan decided to take the ‘scenic’ route, resulting in them crossing over ten states, turning a week’s trip into a month’s. They had enjoyed it immensely though.
The rest of the drive was quiet save a few interjected comments by Brad on the traffic and Ryan on the drivers before they pulled up before Ryan’s apartment.
“Thanks a lot, Brad,” Ryan smiled as he exited the car, “Sorry for the trouble.”
“You know I don’t mind,” Brad said dismissively, “I don’t care about you calling me to give you a lift, I don’t like the reason why you have to call me.”
“I don’t either,” Ryan sighed, “But he’s Greg and he isn’t going to change anytime soon.”
Brad’s eyes lit up and Ryan could have sworn that he actually saw a light bulb appear over his head as a slightly evil smirk crossed his face. He recognized that look as the one Brad always wore right before he was about to do or say something that blurred the lines of offensive and innocent and would invariably give the censors a headache.
“Brad?” Ryan asked uncertainly, “I know that look. What’re you planning?”
“Nothing,” he said, perhaps a bit too brightly.
“Brad....”
“I just have an idea. Do me a favor, will you?”
“Depends on what it is.”
“Don’t have sex with Greg tonight.”
“Um,” Ryan blinked at that, “Is there a reason why not?”
“Can’t explain now. I just want you to do that. If he wakes you up, just bat him off and go back to sleep. Try it for tonight and tomorrow, tell me about his reaction.”
“Brad, I don’t know about this....”
“Just do it. If it goes according to the way I’m thinking, I may have a plan to solve your Greg problems. Trust me, okay?”
“But....oh fine. But this better work or I’ll take out my frustration on you, I swear.”

The next day, Brad could see that Ryan had indeed listened to him because Greg was slouching about the set with an altogether unpleasant aura and was snapping at whoever came near him. It was times like this when Brad had to wonder whether he was doing the right thing by helping Ryan get Greg instead of encouraging him to find someone else. Greg had no problems with ditching Ryan to go sleep with someone else, often when Ryan was just in the next room and yet he would grouse if Ryan refused to concise with his wishes.
“I’m guessing you didn’t give him any?” Brad asked, moving to Ryan’s side in the empty Green Room and speaking in a quiet tone so as to not let anyone overhear what he was saying.
“What gave it away?” Ryan asked dryly, rolling his eyes as they heard Greg yelling at another camera man for getting in his way from the bathroom.
“The fact that he’s being a complete and utter bitch?” Brad responded in the same tone, “What happened last night?”
“He came back at around 3 in the night, smelling of a bathroom and another man’s cologne again,” Ryan wrinkled his nose, “Woke me up from a perfectly good dream to have sex with him. I almost complied before I remembered what you told me and told him to go to sleep. He was surprised and he kept trying until I yelled at him to just shut up and go to sleep.”
“Ouch,” Brad murmured, then shrugged, “Well, he deserves a good yelling now and then.”
“Darn right he does,” Ryan responded, then turned to his friend, “You never did tell me why you asked me to deny him.”
“I have a theory,” Brad announced primly as though he had just discovered the birth of the universe.
“And that is?”
“Very simple, my boy! Greg is, first and foremost, a bastard. Due to his being a bastard, he is therefore attracted to other bastards!” Brad said grandly.
“Are you calling me a bastard?” Ryan play-growled, shoving him.
“When have I not?” Brad retorted, dodging another shove, “Anyway, to get Greg to stop his profound bastardy, you have to beat him in his own bastard game.”
“Which is what? Who’s A Bastard Anyway?”
“Funny. What I mean, in all seriousness, is that if you want Greg to treat you better, you gotta treat him worse. He thinks that he can do whatever he wants because even if he doesn’t get the guy he’s running after with his homing device of a dick, he knows he can get you. You just gotta show him how wrong he is.”
“I still don’t understand,” Ryan sighed.
“Oh, I’ll just show you. Trust me and play along, okay?”
“What? Brad, what’re you- Whoa!” Ryan yelped as Brad pulled him down onto the couch and then planted a deep, wet kiss right on his lips. He was about to push him away and demand an explanation when he heard another voice, this one as angry as he was surprised.
“What the hell is going on here?!” Greg growled at the two of them, looking as if he wanted to rip Brad away and beat him.
“What does it look like?” Brad asked, pulling away from the kiss but still holding Ryan close to him. He felt Ryan tense and patted him comfortingly, but Greg saw the gesture as possession. This time, he moved forward and near ripped Ryan away from Brad, snarling like a wild animal.
“He’s mine,” Greg said in a deadly tone, making to tug Ryan out of the room with him. Ryan finally understood what Brad was attempting and yanked his hand out of Greg’s grip, forcing himself not to react to Greg’s startled look.
“I believe I’m allowed to make my own decisions,” Ryan said with an air of iciness and then turned to Brad, “That was a hell of a kiss, by the way.”
“Oh, that was nothing. I’ll show a kiss later that’s make your toes curl,” Brad winked.
“Excuse me,” Greg’s voice cut through like a knife, “But I’m still in the room.”
“What business is it of yours?” Ryan waved at him dismissively, “This is just a fuck, remember?”
Greg looked taken aback to have his words thrown back at him and was even more shocked when Ryan told him he would meet him at home before literally shooing him out of the Green Room and closing the door behind him.
“I see you figured it out?” Brad smirked at Ryan’s absolutely shocked look.
“He actually got jealous!” Ryan sounded like he couldn’t believe it.
“Which was what I expected. Believe me, by the time I’ll be done with you, you won’t be able to get rid of Greg no matter how much you wanted,” Brad was already compiling the rest of his plans.
“That wasn’t all? Brad, what are you planning?” Ryan frowned, sitting down next to him.
“Lots of things, my friend. Lots of things.”
The next few weeks seemed to pass by in a blur. Ryan acted the way Brad told him to, did what he said and was especially careful to always keep a cool distance from Greg. It didn’t take long before the others noticed something was different between them as they noticed Ryan shying away from Greg’s touches and Greg becoming increasingly agitated, but the general opinion of those who knew them was that it was high time that Ryan did something about Greg’s wandering eyes and hands.
Brad observed Greg’s behavior closely and felt a sense of triumph when he realized Greg was nearly on the verge of falling into their trap. From what Ryan had reported to him, he knew that Greg had started paying more attention to Ryan and had even begun being more faithful to him. Ryan’s happiness at that report made him feel that whatever trouble he was going through was well worth it and he knew that all it would take was just one more push and Greg would be caught, hook, line and sinker.
“This should be the last time we’ll have to do anything,” Brad spoke in a low voice to Ryan who was sitting next to him on the Green Room couch.
“I hope so. I can’t take much more of his behaviour,” Ryan sighed, rubbing his forehead.
“After this, you won’t have to. Tonight, we’re all going to a club.”
Ryan looked at him incredously, “Don’t tell me you used this as an excuse to find a chick.”
“No!” Brad looked slightly offended, “That setting is imperative to the climax of my plan. This time, we’re gonna go the whole hog until Greg finally combusts into ashes of his previous roaming ways and will be reborn as your love slave.”
Ryan snorted at the words ‘love slave’ and couldn’t help but let a smile cross his face. Whatever Brad had said before always turned out true, there was no reason that this one shouldn’t as well.
“But,” Brad brought his back to the conversation, “We have some preparations to do. Let’s go back to your place.”
“Why?”
“I’ve already told everyone which club and the time, including Greg. Now we have to turn you into the Cinderella of the ball.”
“If you think you’re getting me in a dress....”
“No! Well, not at that club anyway.”

“Man, I can’t believe Brad wanted us to meet up in this club,” Drew laughed as he watched another two men pair up in one of the few booths.
“Honestly. Leave it to that man to pick up a bisexual bar,” Colin took a sip of his drink and sent a reassuring smile to Wayne who looked like he was ready to bolt.
“Where is he anyway?”
“Don’t know. I think he and Ryan are coming together.”
A bitter laugh drew his attention to the man on his right who was gloomily stirring his brightly colored cocktail, “Coming together is right.”
“Greg....” Colin sighed and shook his head, not wanting to get into that topic. He already knew whose side he was going to take and Greg didn’t need to hear that right now. Plus, though he didn’t want to admit it, he was happy that Ryan had seemingly gotten over his ‘love’ for Greg and had moved on to someone else. He had honestly never expected Brad - Brad had at least two women with him whenever he partied - to be gay but was thankful that he was. Ryan deserved someone who actually loved him.
“Hey, I think that’s them!” Wayne brightened slightly, hoping that they would laugh about the choice of club and then leave for another one, “Hey guys! Over he- whoa!”
Both of them looked positively edible. Brad in the fitted black shirt and blue jeans looked like every straight woman’s- and maybe some man’s - fantasy. Ryan was no slouch either with a simple though stylish white t-shirt under a black blazer with jeans, but what actually caught attention was his expression; a confident smirk that showed that he knew exactly what effect he was having on people and he was enjoying every bit of it.
“Y-you guys look awesome!” Drew said in awe. The two of them, especially Ryan, normally never made the slightest effort in looking more than acceptable, except for Brad when he was looking to meet someone. Ryan often just came in whatever didn’t smell or had holes in it.
“I should hope so,” Ryan snorted, taking a seat next to Greg and pointedly ignoring the gaping look he had.
“Considering it’s why we’re late,” Brad added, sitting down next to him, “It takes time to look this good.”
“Well, whatever you did, you both look great,” Colin smiled, noticing how much the interest of the patrons in them had increased at their entry.
Greg had yet to say anything, but Ryan could read him pretty well even when he wasn’t looking at him, especially when he could glance at the growing tent in his pants. Quite frankly, he really wanted to just call off the grand-standing and throw himself at Greg, but what they were working for was much better than just a quick fuck. If all went to plan, they could do it whenever and however they wanted.
After a few minutes of simple talking, the DJ put on a dancing track and many couples, some same and others different sex made their way to the dance floor. Brad raised an eyebrow at Ryan and gestured to the dance floor, smiling when he nodded.
“What, now they’re dancing?” Wayne laughed as he watched them make their way through the crowd. Colin had taken pity on him and had offered to pretend to be his gay boyfriend so that people would stop hitting on him. He had perked up considerably now that he wasn’t being leered at.
“Oh shush. I think it’s cute,” Colin smiled but it turned into a frown as he saw how dejected Greg looked now. The man who was normally cold, sarcastic and had been described by many as a heartless bastard was now looking as though the world had ended for him. The expression on his face tugged at Colin’s heartstrings even as he glanced at the couple dancing as if all the world had disappeared except for each other. It was time to get to the bottom of this.
“Greg, why are you doing this?” Colin asked, not taking his eyes off Ryan and Brad, “why are you suddenly moping about every time Ryan’s with Brad? You always said you two had a casual relationship.”
“Well, maybe I don’t want a Goddamn casual relationship!” Greg snapped, glaring up at Colin who looked back at him, “Maybe I actually want a proper relationship with him. Is that so wrong?”
“It is when you screw everyone else,” Colin didn’t bother to mince his words and felt a small bit of satisfaction when Greg winced, “Greg, you ditch him to go have sex with someone else, always using the same excuse when he confronts you about it and now you’re getting angry because he’s found someone who may genuinely want him because he’s him? That’s hypocrisy, my friend.”
“I know,” Greg sighed and Colin felt his irritation melt away. The man sounded so broken, “I know it’s my fault, but you don’t understand.....I was scared, man. Ryan....we were just supposed to be fuck buddies, ya know? No more, no less. But every time I looked at him, I felt....I felt like I wanted to always be with him. I wanted to do everything with him and I wanted him to be my everything. That scared the shit out of me. It still does.
I started screwing around, hoping that it would somehow drive us apart but it just wouldn’t happen. I treated Ryan horribly, but he still stayed with me and I hated him for that. Is that even possible? How can you love someone and hate them at the same time? I guess I finally pushed him to his breaking point and now, instead of feeling relieved, I feel like a part of me just died.”
Greg laughed, low and bitter, “Isn’t that strange? I spent years trying to drive him away because I wanted to live and now, without him, I don’t want to. I love him, Colin, and I’m too much of a coward to say so. It’s just as simple and complicated as that.”
Colin was silent for a moment, pondering the situation and when he finally spoke up, his voice was calm and measured, “I’m not the one who needs to hear that, Greg. You hurt him badly and you did it on purpose. If you didn’t want a relationship with him, you should have just said so, not string him along and break his heart just because you’re a coward. He used to be so full of life before, but you just kept taking that away for him. This is the first time I’ve seen him so happy since he told me you two had gotten together.”
The Canadian took another sip of his drink, “But, no matter how happy he looks, I know his heart still lies with you.”
Greg turned his startled gaze up, but Colin refused to look at him, “I really don’t want him to go back to you, but it’s his heart and his choice. Go after him. But,” he looked down at Greg and he shrinked back a bit at the anger in those normally calm eyes, “If you ever hurt him like that again, I will show you exactly what type of a temper I have, do you understand?”
“Yes,” Greg swallowed nervously.
“Good,” Colin smiled brightly, leaving Greg to wonder if the man had some sort of internal mood switch, “Now go ahead.”
Greg stumbled off his seat and made his way over to Ryan and Brad, trying not to shove people out of his way. No matter how discreet he was being however, both men could easily could see him over the heads of the patrons.
“He’s coming over. Now it’s you all the way, man,” Brad muttered in his ear, “Good luck.”
“Thanks for everything, Brad,” Ryan whispered back, feeling a pat on his back as the man moved to the bar. Soon after, he felt Greg come up behind him but instead of pressing against him like he expected to, he felt him stop at a respectable distance. Carefully donning the mask he had been for the past few weeks, he turned and had physically stop himself from wincing as he saw the look of abject misery on Greg’s face. He hated seeing that look on anyone, especially not on someone he loved so much, but this had to be done.
“What’s up?” he asked coolly, folding his arms.
“I....uh, never mind,” Greg muttered, fidgeting with his hands before turning and walking back the way he came. Ryan sighed in disappointment, wanting to call him back but knowing at the same time that he shouldn’t. Greg had to get through this himself.
“Guess he’ll never do this,” Ryan exhaled, moving to join Brad at the bar when he felt a hand grab at the back of his blazer and pull him back.
“Wha-” that was about all he could get out before a pair of very familiar and very missed lips planted themselves on top of his, kissing him with a passion he had never felt before. He sucked in a startled breath and his partner took that opportunity to slip his tongue in mouth, coaxing him into a battle of wills. It just felt so damn good....but he knew he had to break away, even if that was the last thing he wanted to do.
“What are you doing?” Ryan murmured, pulling away from Greg, his hands automatically on the shorter man’s shoulders.
“Kissing you,” Greg sighed as he buried his face in Ryan’s neck, his arms immediately enveloping the other man, “God, I’ve missed you so much....”
“Greg, I’m serious, what are you-” oh, that felt nice. It had been a long few weeks for him as well, having literally taken a vow of celibacy when he had agreed to Brad’s plan, and those few stage kisses with Brad couldn’t hold a candle to what Greg was currently doing to his neck and jaw.
“I’m doing what I should have done a long time ago,” Greg pulled back for a short moment to press a light kiss on his lips, “What I should have had the guts to do.”
“I don’t understand-”
“I love you.”
That shut Ryan up better than any other method Greg could have ever tried. Somewhere in his mind, he found it amusing that the unflappable Ryan Stiles was currently staring at him like a guppy, but that was quickly being overcome by the fear that he may have just lost Ryan forever. Damn it, why wasn’t he saying anything?
“Ry?” Greg’s voice was nearly a plea. Please don’t say it’s too late for us. Please don’t say that you love Brad too much. Just....please, just say that you....
“I love you too,” Ryan grinned and for a second, it didn’t register to Greg what he had just said. Did he just say that he loved him too? Or was that just his desperate imagination trying to protect him? Looking into Ryan’s eyes, Greg knew that he was telling the truth: there was that same shine he had whenever he looked at him and God, Greg had missed that incredible gaze.
“Really?” he asked numbly, still not completely back in his head.
“Yes,” Ryan smiled, allowing him to collect his thoughts but deciding that he could at least rest their foreheads together, “I always have, you spectacled, snarky bastard.”
Greg let out a chuff of laughter that came out more as a relieved sigh as Ryan leaned forward for a gentle kiss that was more of a brushing of their lips. He hadn’t lost him....but there was still a lot more he had to say.
“Wait,” Greg felt like he was physically tearing a part of himself away as he pulled back from Ryan to speak and from the whine he received from him, Ryan wasn’t in the mood to talk.
“What now?” Ryan sighed, hoping Greg wasn’t going to take the words back. It had been a long time and he wanted some, dammit!
“I need to talk to you more privately first,” Greg spotted the nearest exit and dragged Ryan out into a dark, dank alley that smelt like a sewage dump. Ryan wrinkled his nose at the sight of something squishy before Greg drew his attention back to him by forcing his tongue down his throat.
“Mm, Greg, I thought you needed to talk,” Ryan mumbled against his lips, more teasing than serious. Greg pulled back with a slight chuckle, taking a couple of deep breath that were matched by Ryan. That was one intense moment.
“I do,” Greg murmured, smoothing Ryan’s blazer where he had been gripping it in his fists.
“And?”
“I’m sorry,” Greg sighed, “About everything. The way I treated you, how I’ve been acting....everything.”
Ryan didn’t say anything but nodded to ask Greg to continue, which he did after a short pause.
“You’re not just a fuck to me, Ry, you always were much more than that....but I was scared,” Greg clenched his hand in Ryan’s blazer involuntarily, “I was scared of you. Of my feelings for you. We were just supposed to be a casual fling, but this just wouldn’t get flung. You just kept loving me so much and I hated you for that. I hated you for expecting something that I wasn’t prepared to give. Something that I didn’t know I could give.”
Ryan winced at that and made to pull away but Greg slipped an arm around his waist and kept him firmly in place. Ryan tensed but realized that the other man wasn’t finished talking and stilled.
“But then I realized that you were only asking me for what you deserved. You could have moved on to anyone, but you stayed with me. No matter how badly I treated you, how much I hurt you, you stayed with me. And now I realize that I should have been honest with you from the start. I should have told you that I wasn’t interested in a relationship without stringing you along. I also realize that I should have said all this before you went to Brad.”
Greg stepped back from him at that point, almost as if thinking he didn’t have the right to touch Ryan. The taller man sensed his hesitation and instead moved closer to him, cupping his cheek in his palm, “Then why are you telling me this now? Why?”
“Because it took me all this to realize that I’m in love with you,” Greg spoke and to Ryan’s surprise, there was actually a hint of tears in his voice, “I fucking love you.”
“R-Really?” Ryan felt his heart beat faster in pure elation, but his mind still remained skeptical. Greg had used those words far too often for him to believe him right away.
“Yes. I’m fully, deeply, irrevocably in love with you....and from this moment, you are the only one I’m going to ever say that to,” Greg leaned forward for a light, butterfly kiss that Ryan was too shocked to deny him, “and the only one I’ll ever do that to again.”
“Are you serious?” Ryan muttered, still unable to grasp the situation.
“Like a heart attack,” Greg shifted, suddenly uncomfortable, “Unless, of course, you don’t want to and I completely understa-”
That was all Ryan apparently needed to hear because before Greg knew it, he was being shoved back into the wall and being covered by a 6’6’’ blanket. He grinned inwardly and opened his mouth to the tongue teasing along the seams of his lips before chasing it back into the another man’s mouth. He felt his hands automatically move to Ryan’s belt but he stilled there, realizing that this encounter was not about sex, but about something much better. Not wanting to ruin the movement, he slid his hands to Ryan’s hips, feeling the other man’s large hands cup his face.
“Was that enough of an answer?” Ryan asked breathlessly with a rakish grin that Greg could never resist.
“Feel free to give me more,” Greg responded with a smirk, pulling him into another kiss. They remained like that for God knows how long, just kissing and touching each other before figuring that they should probably make an appearance in the club again, just to reassure the others that they hadn’t taken off without them. They found themselves automatically gravitating towards the dance floor and wrapped themselves around each other, simply swaying to the music, in their own world.
Brad smiled widely as he spotted the two of them closely entwined and congratulated himself on the success of his plan. Finally, there would be no more sad calls in the middle of the night, no more rants and raves and most importantly, no more of having to watch his friend suffer. It had been a hard few weeks, but that look of bliss on the two of them made him feel like everything was worth. He saw Ryan raise his head from Greg’s shoulder for a second, his eyes automatically seeking out his own. His smile widened even further, if possible, when Ryan mouthed out a small ‘thank you’ before settling back to his previous position, a smile that couldn’t be considered anything less than blissful.
Mission accomplished, he thought joyfully before turning back to the woman he had been talking with.
“So....you seeing anyone?”
