Part 13 of my insane fic - key point is that Colin is English - did I mention that I have a deranged imagination?
As ever thanks to jerluvsdean for her help and for just being on the other end of msn!  XD

Almost there now! This is a very short chapter, sorry! I spent ages writing more to go with it but it really didn't work so I got rid of it, it was just better as it was. The epilogue is much longer tho, and that'll be up next. XD

A/N – Colin is dissatisfied with life, does Greg hold the key?

“Aw, shit.” I swore, blushing profusely. “How much of that did you hear?”

“Is it true?” He asked in a very quiet and serious voice taking a small step towards me. “Do I really make you feel like that?”

“Yes.” I was too embarrassed to meet his gaze but I couldn’t lie to him.

I heard him take another step and then his hand was on my chin and he was lifting my face, I looked deep into his eyes, they were full of love and tears. “That is the most wonderful thing that I have ever heard. Thank you.”

“I didn’t know that you would hear it.”

“I know. I love you.” Then he was kissing me, hard. Moaning slightly I wrapped my arms around him and tried to melt into him. The past few days had been tough but he’d followed me anyway. I knew then that I could rely on Ryan no matter what. And that is what I intended to do.

An indignant cough from behind me broke our kiss and we stepped apart, our hands finding each other and holding on. It was Alice, with an unpleasant smirk on her face.

“If you don’t mind I would ask you not to do that in here.” She drawled with utter contempt.

I stared at the girl with whom I had grown up, the girl that until a very few months ago I had planned to marry. I felt physically sick.

Ignoring her completely I turned to Ryan. “I need to talk to my parents again Ry. Then can we go please?”

“Of course.” Came the instant answer. “Go where?”

Alice snorted in disdain. We paid her even less attention.

“Does it matter?”

“No.”

“You’ll still come?”

“Always.”

“I have an idea.”

“Really?”

“Yes, and I think you’ll like it.” And without another word to Alice I turned and walked out of her house, not caring if I ever saw her again.

I took Ryan back to my flat, leading the way but not talking. Ryan let me be and just followed. I led him up the communal stairs, needing to keep moving and not wanting to be trapped in the small lift. I let us into the flat and then carefully locked the door behind me.

Then I fell straight into Ryan’s arms trying hard not to cry. He caught me to him and led me to the sofa where he just held me and made gentle hushing sounds as I buried my head in his shoulder against his neck and gave in to my tears.

He never asked me a single question, just gave me all the comfort that I was after. I didn’t cry for long. I was far too drained. I sniffled my way into silence and then just stayed there in his arms letting him hold me.

“Thank you.” I whispered.

“Love you.”

“I know.”

“Do you want to talk about it?” He asked carefully.

I shook my head as it rested against him. “No, I just want to thank you. And then to go to sleep.” I felt his arms tighten convulsively and then relax again.

“Are you alright?”

“No.”

“Are you going to be alright?”

“Yes.” I pulled back and smiled faintly up at him. “I just can’t believe that she did that. I was going to marry her Ryan, I was going to spend the rest of my life with that women. I...” I shuddered and snuggled back into him. “How did you know where I was?”

“I asked your mother.”

I looked up again in shock. “And she told you?”

“Yes, we had a little heart to heart.” I panicked, dreading what she would have said to him.

“You... what did she...?”

“I told her your point of view; I told her what you told me.”

“And she listened?”

“Yes.” He gave me a gentle squeeze. “She said to tell you that she wants to talk to you again. I think she’s ready to be reasonable.”

I relaxed into him in relief. “I can’t cope anymore Ry.” I murmured into his neck.

Gently he manoeuvred me off of the sofa and put me to bed, lying down next to me and soothing me comfortingly until I drifted into sleep.

When I woke up the first thing I saw was his face looking down on me with his eyes filled with, well, adoration. Smiling back I raised a hand and cupped his cheek.

“I want to live in America.” I said clearly.

The look on his face was comical he was so surprised. “You... what? Where did that come from?” He spluttered.

Sitting up I turned to face him and took one of his hands in mine. “I want to live, with you in America. I want to keep doing improv. And I want to do it with you.”

His features were splitting into a wide grin. “Do you now? Well have you thought about how we could achieve that?”

“I have indeed, I was thinking; If I can get my parents to confirm that they won’t write me out of their will then I have considerable expectations.” I saw him shift uncomfortably and his face scrunched up as he moved to speak. I held up a hand to silence him. “I don’t want to carry you financially, and I won’t. But we could borrow against those expectations; maybe even enough for a deposit on a building or something.” I continued cryptically.

His eyes had lit up and I was fairly sure that he knew where I was going with this. “A building?” He queried. “Not a house?”

“No, I thought we could live in rented; there’s only two of us, we wouldn’t need much space.”

“We could rent somewhere quite cheaply.”

“We could.”

“So what is this building you want a deposit for?”

“Well, that’s what I was thinking; if we bought a small theatre, we could make a go of it. You know, we could put on shows; give classes; rent the space out to people like us who are trying to break into the business, that sort of thing.”

He was looking at me, completely speechless, his eyes burning with something infinitely stronger than the adoration I had woken up to.

“And,” I continued. “If we are successful then we can pay off the mortgage ourselves, we’d never need to use those ‘expectations’. “I grinned at him. “Only thing is, I don’t know where we’d set up. Do you have anywhere you want to go?” I asked coyly.

He flashed a grin back and then pulling himself up onto all fours he crawled towards me in a predatory manner. “Oh I don’t know, don’t you have anywhere in mind?”

“Well, I may have one suggestion.” I mused whilst lying back and allowing him to crawl over me.

“Oh really?” His face was inches above mine and I gulped, trying to keep talking.

“Yes, can’t you guess where?”

“Does it begin with a ‘B’?” He asked innocently as he lowered his head and claimed my mouth. Moaning I wrapped my arms around his waist and pulled him down towards me. His knees slipped on the silken sheets and his body crashed into mine. I pushed up against him eagerly as he broke our kiss and carefully ground our hips together, effectively stealing my ability to think whilst he reminded me of his question. “Well? Does it Col?”

“It might do!” I gasped, aiming for coy again but missing completely, shrugging slightly I reached for Ryan and pulled his head back down for another kiss. One that he returned willingly as his hands went to my shirt buttons.
