Title: Colin/Ryan Drabble Collection
Pairing: Guess.

Static
“Hey, Rick? Who is that?”
In the smoky club, Colin nudged is friend in the side and gestured toward the young man on stage, captivating the audience (including Colin) with his stand-up skills. Rick looked up from his drink and snorted, amused.
“He’s a good buddy of mine, met him a few years back.”
Colin chuckled at another of the stranger’s jokes. “He’s a funny guy, too.”
Rick smiled. “I can introduce you to him, if you like. I reckon you’d both get on.”
“Sure, that’d be nice.”
Once the young man had finished his set to lively applause, he leapt unceremoniously down from the stage and sauntered over to the bar like a graceful striding giraffe, which served to make Colin giggle a little more. The man clapped Rick on the back and shook his hand heartily, then Rick turned to Colin and stepped back, allowing them to greet properly.
“Hi, I’m Ryan,” he spoke deeply, a voice that sounded quite pleasing when heard up close and intimately.
“Colin.” He held out a hand to Ryan so that they could shake, but as soon as they touched, a static tingle sparked between them in awakening and they both flinched instinctively.
“Whoa, sorry about that,” Ryan blushed, laughing nervously and rubbing at the back of his neck, feeling the little hairs there standing erect. “I think I must’ve stood on one of those cables…”
Colin returned the laughter, also noticing that Rick had taken that as a cue to slink away unnoticed. “Heh, let’s try that again.”
So they did, and with that firm uneventful handshake, their journey had begun.
Restless Night
Ryan tugged the covers over him more tightly and attempted to bury himself into the mattress. It seemed like every position he put himself in was uncomfortable and was finding it incredibly hard to become even remotely sleepy. He glanced over at the bedside clock and sighed at the time it displayed: two-thirty in the morning. Two. Thirty.
Ryan huffed again and looked up at the ceiling blankly - he knew the real reason he couldn’t sleep. Colin was in the next room, sleeping in only his boxer shorts. It was the way Colin always slept, but Ryan was finding it hard to concentrate on sleeping when the image continued to pop up in his head.
Truthfully, he’d always found the man attractive, all through the three years that they’d known each other on the Second City circuit. His eyes were definitely the most beautiful part of him, like a soft chocolate with bronze specks, and Ryan couldn’t stare in them for long, else he’d fling himself to the ground and sob out his confession of love. He’ll be getting no sleep tonight.
He rolled again in the bed, searching for a comfortable sleeping position and groaning when he couldn’t find it. In order to get a good night’s sleep, he’d need a miracle.
That was when his bedroom door opened and even with his back to him, Ryan knew that it was only one man. Slowly, he twisted his body until he could confirm this identity, and his heart jumped when he saw, through the darkness, a very determined face.
Colin walked over to Ryan’s bed leisurely, keeping his eyes fixated onto the younger man’s as he approached. Sitting himself on the edge, he leant in until their noses touched idly and Ryan swallowed at such a sudden development, licking his lips.
Their lips met in one sharp manoeuvre and Ryan let out a muffled squeak as he felt a wave of pressure sweep through his lower half. Colin opened his mouth with a moan and Ryan responded immediately, surrendering to the man above him pushing his shoulders down into the mattress.
They broke apart eventually, and Ryan could see that Colin had been just as affected by the kiss as he himself had been. But still, he had to make sure. “Colin?”
“Ryan, please tell me you’ve felt this, too…” he whispered back, panting slightly and brushing a loose bit of fringe out of Ryan’s eyes. “This sexual tension between us… it’s too much.”
Ryan blinked in surprise, but in complete pleasant surprise. Running his hands up Colin’s shoulders, he linked his fingers into the man’s thick hair and whispered, “Then maybe we should break it.”
Colin shuddered when Ryan pulled him down again for a more passionate kiss, wrapping his arms around him and entwining them both together along with the interfering sheets.
Ryan definitely won’t be getting any sleep tonight.
Ice Cream
“Hey, Ry, can I get a bite of that?”
Ryan blinked at Colin’s request, the spoonful of cherry ice cream just short of his mouth. “Sure, Col.” The tall man smiled and held the spoon out for Colin to taste.
Without discussion, he fed Colin the sweet dessert, sliding the spoon out from between his pressed lips. Colin sighed an approving hum after swallowing, giving Ryan a thankful glance. Colin scooped up some of his own vanilla ice cream before holding it out to his partner lovingly. Ryan opened up and closed his eyes in anticipation, but instead felt the chilly splodge of dessert cheekily pushed onto the end of his nose.
The small shock on his face amused Colin and he laughs as Ryan stares at him in mock annoyance. Sympathising, Colin leant over and licked the ice cream directly off of his bulky beak, letting out another pleasing hum as Ryan shudders.
“Sorry, Ryan,” he said, still giggling. “I can never resist you and ice cream.”
Jersey
Colin liked it whenever Ryan wore his sports jersey. It was long and baggy at the bottom, making it easy for the Canadian to slip his hands under it whenever they embraced. More so, Colin liked it whenever he himself wore Ryan’s sports jersey – it was delightfully loose fitting on him, and the hem came to just a few inches above his knees.
So imagine Ryan’s surprise when he came home to find Colin sitting on his bed wearing nothing except the jersey.
“Colin, that’s mine,” Ryan smiled.
Colin winked cheekily. “You’d better come and take it off me, then.”
Waterfall
Ryan takes Colin’s hand and holds it to his cheek, nuzzling against the palm like a purring cat. Behind the two lovers, Feather Falls crashes constantly in a beautiful, rainbowed explosion of spray. Ryan’s taken Colin here in celebration of their love, of what had started ten years ago and still stands stronger than ever.
Colin is awed at his lover’s constant ability to look better the older he gets. The only giveaway of Ryan’s age is the experienced laughter lines around his eyes, outlining them like a picture frame.
The shorter man steps a little closer to him, placing the other hand over his heart and smiling – it still beats just as strong as it had throughout the last decade, even stronger than the crashing water surrounding them.
“Marry me, Colin,” Ryan says softly, squeezing the hand and Colin’s heart back flips in surprised joy. “I want to spend the rest of my life in your arms, making you feel as happy as I feel when I’m around you.”
The request leaves him speechless – despite how well he knew Ryan. Colin never imagined that he’d propose to something of this magnitude. The only response he can muster is bringing Ryan down for a kiss in ardour to try and cover up the fact that tears are dominating in his soft chocolate eyes.
“Of course I will, Ryan,” he whispers, stroking his hair blissfully. “I love you.”
Ryan smiles widely and kisses him again, squeezing them together in a firm embrace. For Ryan and Colin, life starts now.
