Title - You Forget Your Place (Prologue)
Author - Beccie
Pairings - Mainly Greg/Josie, Josie/Ryan & Chip/Jeff (will also be minor Brad/Josie, Caroline/Paul, Chip/OFC & maybe very minor Caroline/Sandi for a bit of fun...=P)
Rating - Starts as an R but will probs turn into NC-17 for swearing, sexuality, character death and adult themes (all that fun stuff!)
Summary - 16th century Britain. Theatre is a man's world. So in enters a woman from the slums whose aim is to change everything...
Note: Based on research for my drama exam notes. This should be fun!
1592, London.
Theatre, although not illegal, was generally a taboo. Acting was not a respectable career for anyone (only beaten by prostitution) and theatres were only allowed to be built outside the city wall. Women were not allowed on stage and women had to be played by young men. So, why would anyone want to go into a field so uncertain?
Greg Proops sat in his basement room, a candle the only source of light, as he pondered his situation. With the recent death of John, one of his better actors, and a performance two weeks away, Greg was in a bit of a predicament. The easy thing to do would be to cancel the performance and start again. But considering the audience, that would be a very bad idea indeed. These people were peasants and, although their status in society was low, a lot of them owned sharp farming implements. Greg, liking his manhood, decided the show must go on...without it’s star. He could just script in Colin to play two parts...but Colin was having enough trouble learning his own lines with confidence let alone John’s too. There really was only one option. Looking down at his desk, he admired his ‘Actor wanted’ poster drawn by himself in ink. It was nothing special; just the specifics. “Age 16-30. Acting experience desired. Must be literate. Must have a good memory. No women.”

Yeah this bit is pretty short but it's only the prologue. The next chapter is a lot longer. Let me know what you think. =)
Ooo! And can I have a story tag please? I intend to finish this one! =D
