I love L5Y. (The guy on the cast recording [NLB] lives nearby!) A good association as well as title... the rest of the song was echoing to me while I read and I think other parts were applicable too.

I don't really have good feedback, just made note of some favorite quotes and phrases:

“So, young person to my left..."

“I think you’re lying.” / “I think you’re gorgeous.”

It’s because you can’t see what everyone else sees in me. I need you to see that. / Why can’t it be the other way around? / What? / Why can’t it be everyone else who needs to see what I see in you?

You wanted this. / I wanted you. / This is what I am.

Greg always felt any kiss by him would be too clichéd, too literal. The official kiss of death and if he were to cup Jeff’s head in his hands…Jeff would feel that deadening grip of his.

Is it that hard for you to look me in the eyes? / Yes. Now be quiet.

You are a piece of work. / And I’m sure you meant that to be insulting.

"I’ll just cuddle with myself here.”

Despite your introduction saying it wasn't, I like the sense of the ital/resized dialogue being ambiguous as to whether it was ever spoken aloud or not.

(Edit, after sitting with it for a few minutes)
It's a hard-to-root-for piece because it the character is so cruel, but as I continue to think about it, I actually think it explores an interesting point about abusive relationships. Which I'm not sure how to articulate without sounding blame-the-victim, which I do not want to do. But there is an element of taking two to tango... Greg didn't put on a courtship act to ensnare Jeff, and Jeff may have seen something in Greg that was there, but it seems more likely he was projecting his hopes of what Greg might be, which tied to him to a much more damaging reality... both of which very sadly do happen. (As I said, I hope that doesn't sound blame-the-victim because that's neither my view nor intent.)
