Intro!

Hi everyone, I'm Molly.  I have lurked in this community for a while since I found it again after a couple of years. I was happy to see many of the same authors. I am not sure I ever posted before, but I went by HollywoodIdol if I did.
While I love to read, I hardly ever write anything that gets posted anywhere. (I wrote a Greg/Jen fic years ago that was put up on fanfiction.net) That may change soon, though. Reading the stories here has me inspired. Other things I love include making art, writing poetry, letting my short attention span run wild, and making others laugh. Whose Line has been a part of my life from day one of its show and I still DVR old reruns on ABC Family to watch and re-watch.  That show got me through the depression that was High School, and still makes me glow inside today.

Along with my intro, I come bearing much praise to some of the authors here! Stories I have very much enjoyed are (recently): Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, Business and Pleasure, and from a while back, My Salad Days (where can I find more of that one??)  Others I liked were Nocturne, Rose Colored Glasses, Psychosocial, and LuvStories' Comic Strip.  And I have read most of the stories from Claydevil's archive with R/C, R/G, R/C/G, G/J pairings. My kudos to you all for your most excellent writing!  I look forward to reading more!

Thanks for reading,
Molly Sheldon

Oh, well, for something this short, a cut's not terribly necessary (though we always like them for stories, even short ones), but for future reference, you can find that info here: http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=75

[identity profile] clayangel.livejournal.com 2010-01-26 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooh, art, huh? What kind of art do you do?

[identity profile] clayangel.livejournal.com 2010-01-26 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Very cool. Is it all original work or do you do fan arty type stuff, too? And do you have a deviant art account or somewhere you show it off? I do art, too, and I love looking at other peoples' work. ^_^

Welcome! Or, welcome back :) Always great to see new/returning faces. I hope you'll jump in and start writing. And (*blushes*) thank you for your praise of Nocturne. That story means the world to me, so I'm flattered when someone enjoys it :) And I'd love to read that Greg/Jen fic sometime... *nudge*

Yeah, I think fanfiction.net bans RPF now :P I never posted anything there but used to read a lot. You'll just have to write a whole new story then, won't you? *eyes you meaningfully* ;)

[identity profile] sungreen70.livejournal.com 2010-01-28 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh, a new story! Woot! You definitely want to include a header before your cut that has the title, author, pairing(s) or main characters, rating, and also a brief summary. Just a sentence or two is fine. As for ratings, I generally say NC-17 for explicit sex, R for vague-er sex and/or violence, PG-13 for language you wouldn't use in front of your granny, PG for less coarse language/adult situations, and G for happy fuzzy bunnies and nothing naughty. Most people on the comm are pretty liberal about their smut, so you don't have to worry too much if your rating is a bit off. If you're nervous, err on the side of a stronger rating.

[identity profile] sungreen70.livejournal.com 2010-01-28 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
No need to be nervous :) I can't wait to read it!

Does it give you any kind of error message when you try to paste into rich text? Sometimes, depending on what computer I'm using, I get a yellow bar at the top of the screen that tells me to click if I want to allow "active x controls" (or something like that).

[identity profile] sungreen70.livejournal.com 2010-01-28 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
Will it let you paste using ctrl-V?

[identity profile] sungreen70.livejournal.com 2010-01-28 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
And, is it a really long entry?

[identity profile] sungreen70.livejournal.com 2010-01-28 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
I can't find anything in the LJ FAQ section that sounds like the problem you're having. If it's still not working, you might try sending a question to support:

http://www.livejournal.com/support/submit.bml

sorry I couldn't help you more! :(

[identity profile] sungreen70.livejournal.com 2010-01-28 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry, I can't figure it out :( I would try the LJ support link...

I think you can do a cut in html by using [Unknown site tag] and

lol, or apparently not...

(trying one more time...)

*both of us wave and chorus* Hi Molly!

From what we gathered below in your conversation with Clay, you sound like a pretty bodacious person, so welcome! Thanks for the lovin's to our stuff, and we hope to hear more from you!

Hello Molly, welcome and thank you for ze mention, it is much appreciated :-) I'm glad you liked our stuff. I'm into photography myself but I'm an idiot savant without the savant part when it comes to creative bits like sculpture, drawing, painting etc... I am, however, completely in awe of people who can do those things.

[identity profile] saiya-tina.livejournal.com 2010-01-27 11:38 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, I'm flattered that you like my story! Welcome to the sisterhood of crazies obssessed with men nearly old enough to be their fathers! :) Hope we'll se you around!

Wow, you're really a creative person! I can't so that stuff to save my life! ^^;

[identity profile] sungreen70.livejournal.com 2010-01-27 11:44 am (UTC)(link)
men nearly old enough to be their fathers!

snort, don't I wish ;)

[identity profile] saiya-tina.livejournal.com 2010-01-27 02:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, it's true in my case! My mother's 50, my dad's 53! I've barely turned 18 and I've been gushing over Ryan since I was 10!

[identity profile] sungreen70.livejournal.com 2010-01-27 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
*laughs* When I was 10, Ryan wasn't old enough to drink. That makes me sad. And Jeff... oh my. He probably didn't know how to write in cursive yet *is old*

[identity profile] saiya-tina.livejournal.com 2010-01-28 02:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, age is all in the mind! At least the age difference between you and Ryan won't freak out anyone! My friends think I'm crazy for fawning over him!

Hey there! ^_^

most belated welcomes to you and its lovely to meet you!
you wrote greg/jen stuffs! is it still about anywhere? i'd love to have a read of it if you know where it is.

and, as the others have said, please jump in and write something, i bet your far more awesome than you think!

[identity profile] newbiepoet.livejournal.com 2010-01-30 12:23 pm (UTC)(link)
ahh yes that can create problems. i haven't even moved and i lose most of my stories. hmm recreating is tough, it either comes off totally epic or sucks completely.

O.o you have really piqued my interest now! i look forward to your fic, and i love the thought of a character development idea jam fest. its something i spend hours on with fbrobey, character developments always fascinate me, and how people perceive their characters in different lights.

[identity profile] newbiepoet.livejournal.com 2010-01-31 12:25 pm (UTC)(link)
would be awesome if you could! ^_^

can i have your job? sounds wicked. i do the same as you, think of something and i write it down, even if it doesn't lead to anything for months.
