THEN Cae decided that hey ,she should help out too, and 3000(ish) words later, this fic was finished :P This is our first co-written story, and hopefully you will not explode from the ... demon possession?
Disclaimer: It's not lying, it's a gift for fiction
Sometimes it seemed as if he was existing in a dream, or a nightmare; and the moments he managed to break free of the choking tendrils holding him down, were becoming fewer and fewer. He was trapped, drowning in his own body, held down by hands that had no substance. He would scream, but no one would hear it, except for the very thing that fed off of his terror, that relished his fear. Created his torment. Sometimes it seemed as if he would never again be whole.

"Lukas."
"Yes my lord."
"He has escaped."
"How?"
"He tricked Michael into weakening the barrier."
There was a soft exhale of breath, a sigh, and Lukas closed his eyes, willing himself to calm down.
"It is not Michael's fault, he is young and foolish. Nonetheless, the evil is now loose once again."
"I will find him."
"Lukas..."
Gabriel was worried for him, Lukas could feel it in his soul. More than one angel had been lost to this particular evil.
"I will find him."
--
"Okay...I'll be there right away. Thank you."
"Who was that?" Colin asked, watching his tall lover.
Ryan's hand was still lightly touching the receiver, his mind reeling from the phone call he'd just received. "It was the hospital...Drew...Drew tried to kill himself."
"What?!"
"He...we have to go."
--
You're weak.
'Please, just leave me alone.'
Drew's pale form glanced up as the door to his room opened. He was met with a pair of concerned, emerald eyes, whose worry belied the smile on Ryan's face.
As soon as he saw his friend, he knew. He knew what it was planning to do.
'No...NO! You can stay! Please, I'm sorry! Leave him alone! Please!'
Ryan sat on the edge of the bed and grasped his friend's shaking hand in his.
"Ryan...no" Drew managed weakly; but it was too late.
It happened too quickly for Drew to react, even if he could. His right hand grasped the startled man behind his neck and pulled him into an open-mouthed kiss. Drew could feel the oppressive weight flee his body, only to settle into its new home, he himself falling back against the sheets.
The blackness coiled within the tall man, like a smokey snake. As if waking from a pleasant dream, it stretched its limbs; the unwelcome and invading fingers exploring Ryan from the inside, choking his soul and holding him down.
The essence of what this thing was, what it had done, invaded his mind and he screamed in soundless torment, fighting to regain control in an ultimately futile battle.
Welcome to my world.
--
"Anything?"
"Not as yet Gabriel. He is hiding. He must know we are searching for him and...wait. Did you feel that?"
"I did."
"The scream hit me like a wave."
"Are you okay Lukas?"
"He has moved. The one he left is fading, I have to go."
"Be careful."
--
Lukas settled over the figure on the bed, regarding him with sympathy as he bathed the pale features in light.
The man's mind had shut down in protest to the trauma and shock of the events he had been through.
Drew had lapsed into a coma soon after the darkness had left him and once again he felt trapped inside his own body. He needed to wake up, he needed to warn people. He needed to warn Colin.
Where is he?
The voice startled him. It came out of the blackness surrounding him.
"Who are you?" he shouted, looking fitfully around him. 'Not again,' he thought despairingly, sinking to his knees, "please! Not again!"
I wish you no harm, the voice soothed, I just need to find the one that possessed you.
"It’s inside my friend" Drew whispered in defeat. "I tried so hard to fight it, to stop it, but I couldn't."
He felt the pressure on his shoulder, as if a hand was settling there, offering comfort he couldn't bring himself to accept.
"My fault" he sighed.
No, came the answer, He has survived for thousands of years and is much stronger than you will ever be. You would not have been able to defeat him.
"Can you?"
Yes. But I need to find him.
As Drew spoke of the events in the hospital, he felt a warmth seeping into his cold body, sliding over him like a blanket, bringing clarity and peace. He was asleep soon after finishing; a natural sleep he would awaken from.
Be at peace, Lukas whispered, leaving the man to his rest.
--
"Colin!" Drew yelled, waking suddenly and sitting bolt upright in his bed. The conversation with Lukas was fading like a partially remembered dream, his mind now concentrating on the most important thing. 'I have to call him.'
With that in mind, he pulled the IV needle from his wrist and left the room, desperately searching for a phone, he padded through the hallways that smelt strongly of disinfectant and tried not to scream in frustration. He rounded a corner and saw a young man talking on a cellphone, calculating for all of five seconds the best way to wrest it from him.
"I need this!"
Ignoring the protests of the shocked man, he quickly dialled Colin's cell number, pacing impatiently until it was picked up.
“Colin? OH thank God I...yes I'm fine...I woke up. Look, shut up a minute! No! Don't call Ryan...Colin! There's something I have to tell you and I need you to listen. You have to get the hell out of there. Right now..."
--
The phone rang, a repetitive, monotonous sound, and Colin hooked a finger around the receiver and pulled it to his ear. “Hello?” He glanced at Ryan who was staring at the television; oblivious to the fact the phone had even rung. Typical.
At the first sound of Drew spilling worried tones over the phone, Colin jumped, almost startled at the ferocity of protection in the man’s usually placid voice. “Drew, oh my god, Drew! Are you okay? What are you doing calling me from the hospital? Did something go wrong? Look, I’ll get Ryan, he’s better equipped to deal with this.”
No!
As Drew went on, Colin frowned, expression concerned for the apparently deteriorating mental state of his friend. “What, Drew, why? What’s wrong? What the hell are you on about? Possessed? No. What the hell. Drew! Okay, okay, fine. I’ll ask. Please, just don’t-just go back to your room and calm down. Please. I’ll ask. ..."
It took a moment for Colin to register the large hand that had slammed down onto the receiver. His gaze ran from the long, elegant fingers, up the adjoining arm and met with the stormy green eyes of his lover. But it wasn't Ryan smirking back at him; the fire behind those beloved orbs was immediately alien to the man.
"You...who are you?"
"Your worst nightmare."
