Ahaaa I'm glad you asked xD

The term "salad days" means "a time of youthful innocence/inexperience" which relates to the entire pretext of a high school AU, where you more or less put the characters back into their salad days. ^^ But it's dual-purpose, as the term originated in Shakespeare's 'Anthony and Cleopatra', when Cleopatra said the line: "My salad days, when I was green in judgment: cold in blood, to say as I said then!" (She was referring to her younger days, using the colour green to signify her immaturity, although these days "salad days" is more about carefree innocence than it did originally in the play.) Does that make sense? Anyway the fact that it was a Shakespearean term/quote served the story even better because of the fact that the drama class in the fic are putting on Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' as their school play.
