A week after the two men learned they were destined soldiers, they found more of them, their own friends to boot. Drew, Colin, Brad, and Greg were the first four; Jeff was the only one who knew their secret.
Colin and Jeff were trying hard not to let things slip to Ryan. What were they going to say if things got worse with King Ruberyl?
“Great, another storm.” Ryan muttered, Colin froze. Could it be another daimohn? He had to act fast. “Let’s invite the gang over for a game night.” He blurted.
Ryan looked to him with a raised eyebrow. “I thought you were tired.”
“Well, that cup of tea I had an hour ago perked me up.” He went to the other room to use the phone, leaving his lover hopelessly confused.
“Hey, guys. That’s some storm, huh?” Brad asked them, laughing.
“Who brought what game?” Greg asked, carrying a game of Yahtzee.
“I got Scrabble.”
“Scruples.” Drew said. Everyone put down their games.
“Drew rules. Let’s play.” Colin and the others knelt by the table and began to play.
After a few cards, a violent wind blew up so hard it broke through the window. Everyone was tense, could they transform in front of Ryan?
A crack of lightning knocked out the lights, and Ryan was knocked across the room with the force of it. “RYAN!” Colin screamed.
A huge crack of lightning made a light that lasted for a good 10 seconds. Ryan was standing up and…was he wrestling with a lightning bolt?!
“Luna!” Drew called out. He saw a lightning bolt on Ryan’s forehead.
“The fifth sign!” Luna jumped up and tapped the bolt, Ryan stumbled, but regained strength fast, as he threw the bolt out the window.
“Behold, the next daimohn!” King Ruberyl’s voice came booming.
“Everyone, transform!” Luna yelled.
“Moon Prism Power!”
“Venus Prism Power!”
“Mercury Prism Power!”
“Mars Prism Power!”
“Jupiter Prism Power!”
Soon, they were all donned in their tuxedos, Greg’s tie red, Ryan’s tie green. Ryan crossed his arms and shouted, “Jupiter Lightning Bolts!” They flew out the window and they saw the storm grow smaller. “Drew!” He called.
Drew’s wand appeared, and he gripped it tightly, feeling the familiar burning. “Moon Healing Eternal!” He screamed as loud as he could, wanting the burning to stop. The moonbeam came shooting out into the storm, and a horrific scream emitted. The man appeared, but walked off again, strangely so, because he looked injured. A red crystal appeared, and it flew into Drew’s wand, they both again disappeared.
Their transformations disappeared, they turned to a wide-eyed Jeff. “Can I play too?”
“So that’s why you didn’t want to be alone in the storm, and why you didn’t tell me!” Ryan realized.
Colin shrugged sheepishly. “I’m afraid so. Sorry for dragging you out of bed, Greg.”
“No worries. I’m better now, actually.”
Drew shook his head. “This is all moving way too fast.”
“I know. It’s only been a week!”
Jeff sighed. “I wonder if I’m next.”
Everyone paused. “Perhaps you are.”
Ryan stared at his hands. “Did lightning actually come out of my hands?”
“Did it hurt?” Drew asked.
“No, why?”
Drew rolled his eyes. “Figures. Every time I use the wand it feels like my hand is on fire. But it’s all right after it disappears.”
Everyone looked to him worriedly. Drew caught it. “Relax, I’ve dealt with pain before.” He smiled. “Besides, is anyone hungry? I’d rather have a stomachache be my pain.”
They laughed. “That’s our Drew.”
