"So it was you! I was going to expose you...!"
"I know. That's why I choose to expose myself!"
"Please! There are ladies present!"

My first Secret Santa ever! Thanks for the opportunity! (Even though I discovered trying to write creatively on a deadline isn't my strong suit. ;-) )

Title: Variable Expression
Pairing: Colin/Greg... and beyond...?
Request: "quirky greg/col, a little threesome with Mike McShane perhaps :D"
Rating: C for "coquettish" (and how that goes with Uranus... oh, stop me.)
Written for: [livejournal.com profile] pdglyph!

Reference: Ep. 9.03 (UK)

I'm so dreadfully sorry for the delay. And now for my fear that in trying to compensate for it, I'm posting shoddy work. But sometimes continuing is more important than 'perfection' ;-) I'm determined to get the next (and possibly for real this time) last chapter up before the end of the month. It should be more action-packed, to make up for this installment of descriptions. We'll see! Thanks for the patience and continued support!!

Rating: Golly... PG!

As usual, this story is set not in a specific year, but in a space/time wormhole in which many times converge. Things that seem like clues as to real times, aren't. They're there 'cause I love them. (Continuity? What?)

can i ask a very stupid question )

Title: Walk another planet with Me
Author: Spec-Kitty
Chapter: 3/?
Rating: Mild implied postcoitalness, ...wow: mostly clean language! Except of course for the soundbite from Greg's stand-up. (Thanks, G.P.)
Summary: Setting: England, Time: early into Britline
Disclaimer: These beloved fictional characters exist wholly apart from the real people they're based on.

Note: there's a paragraph in here that kind of worries me because it's (intentionally) harsh, but I left it in because it's really not about the fanfic community—and certainly not this one. I mainly drew on my theater-related experiences, where the line is much more blurred between celebrity infatuation and physical proximity, meeting at stage doors etc. Particularly when I had a day job as the personal assistant to a Tony-winning Broadway star, and one of my duties was to sort her fan mail, filtering out the stuff that really shouldn't reach her. It definitely made an impression on me. I do find there's a huge difference between being inspired by someone, even totally infatuated (we say loosely "obsessed") with them, and being actually deluded about them. If I didn't feel totally comfortable about which side of the line this community fell into, I wouldn't have included the paragraph. So please now just ignore all that and (I hope) enjoy the chapter.

Title: To the Fourth
Author: Speccy C.
Chapter: 1/1
Rating: All quite tasteful
Summary: Rewatching a certain episode in Season 10, thinking about the fanfic world where I've always quite liked this pairing, but was struck with a very different sense of things on tape. Just came to me.
Disclaimer: Nothing to do with the real guys, just how they catch at the imagination.

I hope you're only calling me fat and yourself old )

Hi there!

I've been a fan of Clay's (both as writer and assembler of other good work) for quite a while now. A couple of pieces in this community particularly caught me by the throat, and for the first time I find I've joined a fanfic group! Usually I'm happiest as an anonymous reader. I'm not sure how much writing I'll end up doing here, my relationship with fanfic (for writing it) has been a nervous one. But if nothing else, at least I can now comment on your pieces, which I've been enjoying and admiring!

To avoid total lurkerdom, at least at first, I proffer a drabble.

Title: The Brief Return
Chapter(s): 1/1 (unless I try to make it into something later)
Rating: G
Warnings: Indistinctness abounds
Pairing: (None...? Or surprise)
Disclaimer: I own only my projections, inspired by very inspiring strangers
Summary: After a long absence, two friends regard one another

German for 'world pain' )
